MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio — Police have identified 24-year-old Dae’Juan M. Morton of Euclid as the suspect in the fatal shooting at Piada Italian Street Food in Mayfield Heights that killed 45-year-old Al Rice of Cleveland on Friday afternoon.
Police said Morton is charged with one count of aggravated murder and two counts of attempted murder. At a bond hearing before Judge Dominic Coletta at Lyndhurst Municipal Court, the judge set Morton’s bond at $1 million.

Morton was transferred to the Cuyahoga County Jail Monday afternoon after the bond hearing.

CASE DETAILS
According to a previous press release from the Mayfield Heights Police Department, officers were called to the restaurant’s parking lot around 4:04 p.m. Friday after witnesses reported hearing gunshots.
Rice was found wounded in the parking lot and was taken by ambulance to Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Three adults were initially detained at the scene, police said. In an update Monday, police told 3News that the other two adults have since been released.
