This Italian beef from a jar? 10 out of 10, no question.

I warmed it up, used my potato masher to shred the beef (makes it go so much further), and piled it onto toasted hoagie buns.

My little trick? Spread mayo on the buns before broiling them for 30 seconds. It doesn’t taste like mayo at all—just makes the buns extra flavorful and golden.

The whole family agreed this needs to be in our regular rotation. I’m already planning to try it with venison next time we process a deer.

When people say “I don’t have time to cook from scratch,” this is what I want them to see.

You can have homemade food ready to go. You just need to do the work once—during canning season—and then you’re set for months.
