During Restaurant Week, from Oct. 2 – 9, eateries will offer special prix fixe menus, discounts and deals such as buy one get one free and buy one get one half off, according to Rina Bakalar, director of Economic and Community Development in Trumbull.
In its fifth year, during restaurant week the number of participating restaurants has been “pretty solid given we don’t have a huge restaurant scene. I think we get excellent participation percentage wise,” she said.
Other participating restaurants include: Antonio’s Italian Kitchen & Bar, Best Edibles, Crown Pizza, Ecco Wine Bar, Franco Gianni’s, Fryborg, J Bagels & Café, Natural Kitchen of Trumbull, Romanacci Pizza Bar, Sapore Italian Deli, Ten Asian Bistro and Trumbull Pizza Company, according to the website.
Joining the line-up for the first time is the new Oggi Gelato which sources its ingredients directly from Italy and makes its gelato every few hours daily, according to owner Maurizio Ricci. The gelateria, which opened in June, is making a special flavor for the event – a blend of espresso and chocolate, called Veneto, named after a region in Italy.
Plasko’s Farm Creamery and Sunny Daes Ice Cream also offer ice cream and frozen treats.
