Linguine alla Nerano was first conceived in 1952 by Maria Grazia and her daughter Rosa Andreone at their family inn in the small fishing village of Nerano on the Sorrento Peninsula along the Amalfi Coast. Well, now you can try a taste of this famous dish without a pricey plane ticket, all thanks to none other than Trader Joe’s. The fan-favorite grocery store just dropped a frozen pasta inspired by this classic Italian dish, and it looks absolutely delish. I’m definitely picking this up during my next TJ’s run.
Starting at select Trader Joe’s stores now, you can hit up the beloved frozen food aisle and find frozen Linguine Nerano. Made with durum wheat semolina linguine cooked al dente, this pasta was prepared in a buttery, cheesy sauce. This cheese includes Provola, a mozzarella-like cheese. Yum.
While the sauce is definitely divine, the true star of the show has to be its summer squash. A combination of grilled and fried zucchini dresses up this dish beautifully, and it’s made complete with some bright basil.
You can cook this frozen pasta either on your stovetop or in your microwave. TJ’s recommends “a garnish of torn fresh basil and a generous sprinkle of Grated Parmigiano Reggiano to top it all off.” This is a simple but delicious meal, great for a quick weeknight dinner when nothing sounds good. (Except pasta—pasta always sounds good!)

On the Trader Joe’s subreddit, fans eagerly discussed the new frozen pasta drop. “I felt like Stanley Tucci eating it!” exclaimed one shopper. “I had linguini Nerano in Nerano, Italy! It’s delicious, and the secret is in the cheese. It looks like this is using the correct/authentic cheese; I’d definitely try it. TJs frozen pastas are fantastic,” said another excited fan in a comment on the subreddit.
You can find this new frozen pasta at select Trader Joe’s stores now. It retails for $4.79 for 16 ounces. Bon appetite!
