Cast-Iron Upside-Down Pepperoni Pizza

Ingredients
1 package refrigerated pizza dough
25–30 pepperoni slices
2–3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1–1½ cups jarred pizza sauce
1 tablespoon olive oil
Garlic powder and Italian seasoning, optional

Directions
Preheat your oven or smoker to 325°F.
Lightly coat a 10- or 12-inch cast-iron skillet with olive oil.
Arrange the pepperoni across the bottom of the skillet.
Cover the pepperoni with shredded mozzarella cheese.
Spoon the pizza sauce evenly over the cheese.
Stretch the pizza dough over the skillet and tuck the edges down around the filling.
Sprinkle garlic powder or Italian seasoning over the dough, if desired.
Cook at 325°F for 35 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and reaches at least 190°F internally. Add a few extra minutes if the center is still doughy.
Let it rest for 5–10 minutes. Run a knife around the edge, place a cutting board over the skillet and carefully flip the pizza over.

Slice and enjoy!
