There are a hundred ways to make baked ziti. This is the one Iāll always come back to. š®š¹
This classic Italian-American baked ziti starts with a quick homemade tomato sauce, then gets mixed with creamy ricotta and Parmigiano Reggiano and layered with cubes of mozzarella for pockets of melted cheese throughout.
Cook the ziti just shy of al dente, make sure every piece is generously coated with sauce, then bake until bubbling around the edges and golden brown on top.
Simple ingredients, proper technique, and classic Italian-American comfort food.

First of all, don't use butter! After cooking the pasta and preparing the tomato sauce in the pan, don't use ricotta or mozzarella, if anything, use a cheese like fontina or in any case one that's neither too soft nor too hard, perhaps with the addition of gorgonzola, also adding cooked ham and finally a little parmesan or pecorino.
