The travel retail-exclusive Santa Margherita Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG

Herita Marzotto Wine Estates returns to the TFWA World Exhibition this September (Blue Village, F3) with growing confidence in the premium wine category, citing changing consumer preferences and rising demand for white and sparkling wines as key drivers of future growth in global travel retail.

The family-owned Italian wine producer believes evolving consumer tastes are creating new opportunities for premium wines across the channel, particularly among younger travelers seeking quality, authenticity and new drinking experiences. While the trend is evident across global travel retail, Asia Pacific remains one of the most dynamic regions, driven by changing consumer behavior and a growing appetite for premium white and sparkling wines.

Export Director Giacomo Marzotto said, “Consumer tastes are evolving across global travel retail, creating new opportunities for premium wines. China has traditionally been a red wine market, but younger consumers are increasingly embracing white and sparkling wines. We’re seeing similar trends in other international markets, reinforcing our confidence in the long-term potential of these categories.”

China remains one of the clearest examples of this shift, while Japan continues to be one of Herita’s most established markets in the region. Australia continues to perform strongly, with Southeast Asia – particularly Thailand – also presenting promising opportunities for future growth.

The evolving market aligns closely with the strengths of Herita’s portfolio.

Proud product of Italy: Santa Margherita Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG

Among the highlights in Cannes will be the travel retail-exclusive Santa Margherita Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG, which has continued to build momentum since its launch into the channel, reflecting growing demand for premium sparkling wine. Alongside it, Ca’del Bosco, one of Italy’s leading Franciacorta producers, continues to reinforce Herita’s premium sparkling wine credentials through its commitment to quality, innovation and organic vineyard management.

Visitors to this year’s new stand will also have the opportunity to discover wines from across Herita’s portfolio of ten wineries.

Travel Retail Fine Wine Alliance

TFWA World also marks Herita’s first exhibition as a member of the Travel Retail Fine Wine Alliance, joining fellow family-owned producers Albert Bichot, Cono Sur, González Byass, Masi, Symington and Famille Perrin.

Marzotto welcomed the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded producers. “The Travel Retail Fine Wine Alliance brings together family-owned wineries with a shared commitment to quality and to growing the wine category in travel retail. By sharing ideas and experiences, we can strengthen the category and create even greater value for our partners and travelers.”

During TFWA World, HERITA will participate in the alliance’s networking event and once again support the TFWA Lounge at the Carlton Hotel, where Santa Margherita Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore will feature throughout the week.

Celebrating carbon-neutral wine production

Sustainability remains central to Herita’s long-term strategy, with organic viticulture, biodiversity and responsible production underpinning its approach. The company has been the first – and only so far – Italian carbon-neutral wine producer.

“The opportunities for premium wines in travel retail remain strong,” Marzotto added. “By staying true to our heritage while responding to evolving consumer tastes, we’re confident in our long-term growth ambitions.”
