If you’re wondering where to eat in Rome, this video is for you! 🇮🇹🍝 We spent our time eating our way through the Eternal City, from a fantastic guided food tour through the charming streets of Trastevere to some of Rome’s most iconic trattorias and hidden local favorites.

Our journey began with Secret Food Tours Rome in Trastevere, where we sampled some of the city’s most authentic flavors:
🍅 Da Etta – Burrata with tomatoes and artichokes paired with Prosecco
🥟 Antico Forno Santini – Traditional Roman supplì
🍕 La Renella – Fresh porchetta pizza
🍝 Vanda – Amatriciana, Cacio e Pepe with mezze maniche pasta, and crispy fried zucchini flowers stuffed with mozzarella
🥐 Maritozzo Rosso – The famous Roman maritozzo filled with sweet panna
🍨 Bar San Calisto – Delicious artisanal gelato

But we didn’t stop there! We continued our culinary adventure across Rome, trying even more incredible local restaurants:

📍 Romolo e Remo – Sapori Capitolini
• Prosciutto & Buffalo Mozzarella
• Rigatoni alla Carbonara
• Roman-style Meatballs (Polpette alla Romana)

📍 Tosca Trattoria Pinseria
• Traditional Roman Pinsa Margherita
• Ricotta & Spinach Ravioli with Fresh Tomato & Basil

📍 Adeva Cucina Moderna
• Carbonara
• Fettuccine Ragù Bolognese

📍 Jupiter Rooftop Restaurant
• Incredible Roman-style Meatballs
• Zucchini Balls
• Aperitifs with an amazing rooftop atmosphere

📍 Trattoria Della Stampa
One of our favorite meals in Rome! This tiny trattoria has only about 12 tables, so reservations are highly recommended.
• Our favorite Carbonara of the trip
• Homemade Lasagna with incredibly thin, tender pasta
• Amazing desserts
• Fun 80s music that made the experience even better!

Whether you’re planning your first trip to Rome or returning to discover more of the city’s incredible food scene, we’ll show you exactly where to eat and what dishes are worth ordering. From authentic carbonara and cacio e pepe to porchetta, supplì, maritozzo, and creamy gelato, this was one unforgettable food adventure.

  1. Nice! We stayed at The Mozart which the hotel Jupiter sits on? ❤ Rooftop bar was lovely especially at night closing out each day! 😊

  2. Roman meatballs have mortadella ground in the meat, the cooking style and using milk soaked bread.

  3. I liked seeing all of your experiences. The food tour was fun with your hilarious guide. The amount of carbs you put away, wow. It's good that you did a lot of walking. LOL Thanks for sharing your Roman experience with us. You always do a great job. Alisa, with all your travels in Europe, you are becoming quite the wine connoisseur 😊

  4. Curious, is it not a thing to remove hats at the table anymore? Not being snarky, am genuinely curious. Other than that it all looks amazing.

  5. Its on my bucket list to go to Italy I mean look at the good food to try its worth the trip just for that lol Thanks for showing us the food tour looks like such a fun thing to do!

  6. Absolutely loved tge food tour you took in Rome. It looked amazing. Your tour guide sounded very knowledgeable.

  7. Thank you so much for the information. I have been telling hubby we need to do a sailing from Italy and will have to plan it for 2028; hoping for a sailing out of Italy and ending in Barcelona or Barcelona to Italy😅. Thank you again!!

  8. We did a foodie tour on our first night in Rome to get an idea about the food and restaurants. I loved it! They eat artichokes differently than we do. They even eat the flower. Did not know artichokes have flowers. We also took an Italian cooking class that was amazing! We are from Texas but retired to Florida. Before we did we took this class and it turned out the wife of one of the chefs was from Dallas. Also found out the manager of the apartment we rented, his mother was from Dallas. Small world. I'm sure you learned about real gelato and fake gelato.

  9. I don’t know how you got around but we used Mytaxi. An app like Uber. Cheaper though. Worked great and we did not have to worry if the driver did not speak English.
