Riva del Garda and Malcesine turned out to be a completely different side of Lake Garda than we expected. Over a few days here we tasted wine you’ve probably never heard of, rode a funicular up to a cliffside fortress, climbed a 13th century tower, and took a cable car up Monte Baldo for views over the whole lake. If you’re looking into things to do on the north shore of Lake Garda, this covers Riva del Garda and Malcesine start to finish.
