Let me take you along for a day filled with small steps forward, from preparing new garden beds and planting more potatoes to quiet moments in nature and a homemade lasagna inspired by traditional ragรน alla Bolognese.
Life at our 150-year-old farmhouse in Piemonte is rarely about big transformations overnight. Instead, it’s built one project, one meal, and one day at a time. I hope you enjoy spending this slow summer day with us.
Over the coming months, weโll be planting more fruit trees and vegetables, improving the soil, and slowly building a productive garden in the middle of the Italian countryside, surrounded by vineyards and rolling hills.
This channel documents our journey of creating a living garden, growing our own food, and exploring our love of food and wine along the way, all while restoring an old Italian farmhouse.
If youโre interested in starting a garden, homesteading, growing your own food, composting, mulching, or life in rural Italy โ subscribe to follow the transformation!

I really love those shovels. You guys find like that one that dylan is using with a flat nose which I forget the name of them. But with the teeth on the side of it, oh man, I would love to have one of those, I'm gonna have to ask for 1 in America, I've never seen 1.

I've never grown potatoes but would like to! Is it too late in the season to plant potatoes now? ๐ฅ Wow! Your lasagna looks so delicious! ๐ I've never made it with vegetables before. I might have to set aside some patience and give it a try!๐ Another great video! Thank you for sharing! See you next week! Take care and be safe! Ciao! ๐ ๐ ๐ท

Love your gardening videos and the cooking segment is great.
A nice salad ๐ฅ would be nice as well.
Dat was smullen๐
Hi Dylan it looks delicious. Thank you for the recipe ๐
You are using the Ruth Stout method of "no work/no till" system that grows in a thick layer of organic mulch. She was a fascinating American gardener who often was described as a lazy gardener…and she was. You are in the perfect place to source what you would need to use the raw materials to grow using her methods. It might be advisable to look her up, even just for interest's sake. Lovely video Dylan.
I do not like too much tomato … going to try your recipe for sure … Looks yummy. ๐ท
Bechamel in lasagna is something I hadn't tried, but it makes sense, especially with an authentic Italian cheese. That meat mixture sounds delicious just by itself. I noticed you have fresh pasta, which often makes the eating much nicer.
You could have your own wormery, but given the number of projects you two already have planned, maybe not.
I tend to water everything before planting, then again after. Mostly because I frequently don't water enough after planting.
Wine is something I like to use in cooking, but rarely get the right wine to make my foods with. I just drink it with lunch or dinner.
Hall die sosse ist viel zu trocken mehr Tomatensosse ๐ฎ
How sweet that your cat comes along on your walks.
Thank you so much for your personal recipe. Yes, everyone can make their sauce however they like. I personally love adding fresh tomatoes and herbs to mine. The main thing is that it is lecker ๐
Well done Dylan, the garden is coming along nicely and the lasagne looks tasty.
Very nice video. Keeps our interest throughout.โค๏ธ๐
So true – hard work is rarely fun but oh so rewarding. You have a huge job ahead of you, but so did the farmers and builders before you. I am sure they would be proud of your progress & vision. โคโคโค
Hi Dylan ๐ Your garden vlogs and wine breaks in between are so informative and gives me reason to take breaks, enjoy great food, good Wine and have patience! Enjoy life and cook with your โค โ๏ธโค๏ธ๐๐๐ฅฐ

That they are both very different in content and still hold such great energy and vibes is awesome!
