I made my first homemade pizza last night and I am pretty proud! But, I have some questions for making it better. You all are the experts who encouraged me to give this a try, so hoping you can help:

  1. I want the crust to have some flavor. Does anyone have a recipe for brushing a garlic flavor onto the crust?

  2. I used baking parchment paper to make the slide on and off the peel. Can I use the broiler to brown the cheese with the parchment paper (rated 450f if that matters)?

  3. I used trader joe's pizza cheese, but it was a bit bland. Anyone have recommendations for cheese?

  4. Last one – I used hot honey last night and it was great. But I am interested in making a pesto drizzle as well (like at Blaze pizza). Anyone have experience making a drizzle like this?

I appreciate any and all input.

1- mix a tbs or so of melted butter with some garlic powder and a pinch of salt ( unless you use salted butter ) and you can add any other seasoning you want also and brush it on.

2-you are supposed pull your parchment paper out a couple minutes after you launch. One quick pull does the trick. After that, you can broil all you want .

3-whole milk low moisture mozzerella off the block.

4- I don’t drizzle but I do like pesto on pizza

Trader Joes sells blocks of whole and skim milk mozzarella. Buy that.
