How to vacation like a BILLIONAIRE…on a budget ⬇️
We spent 7 days in Sardinia during peak season in August, and here’s what it really cost:
✈️ Flights: We were already in Europe, so our roundtrip flights from the mainland to Sardinia were $498.09 USD.
🏨 Accommodations: For 7 nights, we spent $1,079.19 USD.
🚗 Rental Car + Ferry: Having a car to explore the island was essential! Total cost was $723.37 USD.
🌊 Activities & Adventures: We SPLURGED here, spending $1,025.44 USD on excursions and exploring Sardinia’s stunning beaches and landscapes ( 🚨 this is a major money saving category if you’re on a tighter budget)
🍝 Food & Groceries: A mix of dining out and grocery shopping came to $642.90 USD.
🛍️ Souvenirs: Just a few keepsakes for $12.50 USD.
💰 Total: $3,981.49 USD for two people, which breaks down to:
* $1,990.075 USD per person per week
* $284.39 per person per day
We’re mid-range budget travelers, so we could’ve spent less, but also a lot more! Sardinia offers something for every budget, and it’s definitely worth it!
⬇️ TIPS TO SAVE MONEY IN SARDINIA ⬇️
* Go during the off season or shoulder season! We went during the busiest week of the year, so everything was a little more expensive! ☀️
* Pick-up and return your rent car from the same destination! We picked ours up in Cagliari and dropped it off in Olbia, so it was twice the cost 🚗
* We splurged on 3 different boat trips, but you certainly don’t have to pay for any activities! Sardinia has plenty of incredible, free experiences and activities! ⛵️
* You could easily save money on eating out and make your own meals at your accommodations + pack lunches for beach days! 🥪
