Trader Joe’s “NY Style” Pizza 🍕
Cost per pie:
Dough: $1.49
Cheese: $1.83 (one $5.49 block = 3 pizzas)
Sauce: $0.66 ($1.99 jar = 3 pizzas)
Total: $3.98
Not gonna lie… for under $4 this is kinda crazy.
If you don’t feel like making dough, Trader Joe’s is actually a solid shortcut—but you’ve gotta treat it right.
Pro tip: skip the jar sauce if you can—homemade is on another level.
Mine’s stupid simple:
good canned tomatoes (Italian, San Marzano… or San Merica 🇺🇸), a pinch of salt, a pinch of sugar… that’s it.
No cooking it down, no overthinking—just clean sauce.
Then tweak it however you want—that’s the fun part.
And if you want that crispy, no-flop bottom?
👉 A pizza steel changes everything. Even with store-bought dough.

What kind of olive oil do you use?
That looks delicious!
