History was made today, but it came with so much heartbreak. โ›ธ๏ธ A monumental day as Mikhail Shaidorov claims Kazakhstan’s first Olympic gold in menโ€™s figure skating. Watching Ilia Malinin deal with that unimaginable pressure was so hard to see, but his grace and sportsmanship toward Mikhail proves heโ€™s a champion in every way that matters.

  1. This makes me proud of this young man. His heart is broken, he didn't win, but he can hug the winner, and mean it! There's some "leaders" who should watch and learn, if capable. Remarkable young men!!

  3. Shaidorov landed 5 QUADS flawlessly, two of them in combination, and the opening combo was a super rare Triple Axel + Quad Salchow. His components were great. He wasn't less skilled than Malinin. And most importantly, he had the nerve and landed all those quads. HE DESERVED TO WIN. Such a huge champion โœจ I hope Ilia will be back soon, but don't ever think that Shaidorov was inferior, because he is actually GREAT. Period.

  4. Humble pie is a good thing not saying he was arrogant now the insane fandom probably won't go to his head

  5. Ilia won gold for USA team! Letโ€™s cherish a great young soul! Everyone has a time, maybe itโ€™s Kazakhstan time this season and Ilia will have many many more golden moments!
