I bought a CHEAP House in Italy! And I’m finally here!

Julie In Italy (finally!)! Authentic Italy, delivered to your doorstep (literally!) I’ve thought long and hard about this new channel ‘Julie in Italy’ and decided now was the time to make the leap. My @americanviscountess YouTube has grown leaps and bounds since we started a few years ago…. As my Little Italian House renovation vlogs are also on the @AmericanViscountess channel it made more sense for me to start a brand new, ‘Julie in Italy’ channel as several of these vlogs have reached well over 1 million views! Again, thank you!

When ‘Julie in Italy’ launches, I will be – at the start – uploading archive Little Italian House vlogs from over the past 3 years in order to help build the channel. Then, starting in July 2024 , you will see some new and exciting content. However, I still have the kitchen renovation to complete (nearly there) so those videos will still be uploaded on @americanviscountess and then eventually ‘Julie in Italy’. Confusing. Yes. Sort of. okay I’ve arrived this is my little
square this is feo I just got a little
coffee from here and it’s a blue sky day
and I’m in heaven I’m literally in
heaven right
now okay this is my house here I’m being
really
quiet this
is um I think it’s cuz it’s like CS to
time here little but so you can have a
little I mean how cute is my
street so here it is here’s the hole of
the house I’m just gonna not that one
sorry this one I’m about to go up on my
big
balcony and that is the house on this
side and there’s a car
coming
and here is the side of the
house and again I’m about to go up on my
balcony cuz the sun has just come out
okay hi I made it to
Italy I’ve just done my first load of
laundry so I’m going to be very Italian
right now and like my neighbor over
there I’m going to hang my laundry as
bizarre as this sounds I’m actually
really excited about it um there were a
couple issues with my electricity so
when I arrived it was um like the
electricity was anytime I plugged in an
appliance it um anytime I plugged in an
appliance it shorted everything out out
and that’s because the past owners
didn’t pay their bill for the past four
months or more than that like the past
four bills I think I’m going have to buy
some more of these but I’m going to hang
who yep definitely going to have to buy
I mean okay so the hanging may not
work no okay so this is so
today okay so these are all broken good
one so today oh today I’m going to go
into the town and get some more clothes
pins but in the meantime I think I
should be able to hang at least a shirt
on there it’s not windy here and I’ll
hang another shirt so at least I’ve hung
some laundry but see what you find out
these are broken
whoa and there we go these are broken
and I need to go to the shop so the
shops are basically closed until 3:00
everybody you know goes home and has
lunch
amazing and takes a little pause um
there we go um but you can see so that’s
going to be my big thing is is going to
buy clothes pins today so I’m buying
clothes pins today and I’m getting a SIM
card for my phone so I’m going to have
an Italian phone number I need it in
order to set up my internet banking but
yeah I just just wanted to say
hi and I can’t wait for you guys to come
visit here and maybe hang your own
clothes and I promise you if you do
Airbnb this place you will have all new
clothes pins there I got to go get a
dust a dust uh Bin um dust sorry dust
pan and broom to go um swipe this up but
lots to do as you can see but that’s
what makes it fun and it’s a project and
I love it love it love it anyway here’s

okay so here’s my kitchen I have this on
a on a tripod I have the other like
thing that the gimbal that I’ll take
around as well but I just thought so
I’ve just opened up my window for the
first time so I’ll show you what it
looks like on the outside and then but
I’ve opened it up so it just lets in so
much light which is amazing so couple of
things just to tell you is you know the
electricity is now working so I haven’t
been able to run a dishwasher since
which is fine don’t mind that but like I
bought new plates um Step will insert uh
the new plates and glasses and
everything that I bought so a couple of
things that I’ve sort of just figured
out is well a the electricity is now
working because all the past bills have
been paid Allelujah but I did have to go
to the Post Office and pay my bill which
was due February 25th um and so that’s
all good um few but that wasn’t the
reason why my electricity wasn’t working
even though mine was late it was um
theirs was like way late for like a
whole year of electricity bills not
being paid anyway enough about that so
so I’m going to load up my dishwasher
for the first time which sounds crazy
but I’m super excited about it today as
you know I’m going to go get clothes
pins it’s like an exciting day I’m going
to go get a SIM card for my phone so
then I can I have a bank account here so
my internet banking can
start and there was something oh yeah
super
exciting here are my glass jars from my
fungi uh sorry uh porini fungi porini
mushrooms um apparently uh porini
mushrooms are like huge here like
massive and these are um beans and so I
need I figured out that there’s a place
in Fano that I just dropped them into so
that’s like a trip I got to go drop them
in then I’m going to go to um to get uh
oh I need dishwash I have one
dishwashing tablet so I need now that my
dishwasher is working I need to get that
it’s a busy day it’s a busy day anyway
the other thing that I wanted to tell
you
about is this so we’re going to show you
so Malcolm my amazing interior designer
um incredible is helping me
virtually uh with this place so took
like and we’ll show you some of these
photos as well in every room I took like
a gazillion photos Malcolm was like take
all as many photos as you can send them
to me and he did the design and then
told me what areas in red that I need to
measure so that’s I’m going to start
loading up the dishwasher right now um
15 or 20 more minutes until it’s 3:00
when things start to open up and then
I’m going to go make my trips I mean the
simple life I’ll take
it I love it okay anyway so welcome to
my kitchen and hopefully uh if you visit
here you’ll be uh experiencing this
kitchen when it gets redone remember
this is all being
renovated the most amazing antiqu place
I mean there’s too much to show you on
this video but it is crazy crazy I mean
this is just like literally a speck of
what you’re seeing right now it’s all
Outdoors everything I’ve already found
some all right I’ve just bought a whole
bunch of things for an unbelievable
price I just I bought these chairs €1
each all oh this mirror I got is from
Morano I’m in the happiest mean just
bought my just basically bought
furniture for my house okay as promised
I’m going to give you a little bit of a
tour so this is the side of my house
that’s the window leading into the
kitchen that up there is the bathroom
window and so I just wanted to give you
guys a little um tour of the house so
you can see it here and all the way up
there is a bedroom window that’s the
kitchen window I’ve got my mask on that
is the sitting room window that’s
another bedroom window my Terrace
there’s my front door
and if I come around here my neighbor
is y doing laundry and then there’s the
side of my house and here comes the
postman so there’s another door leading
to the side of my house and that’s to
the hallway so let’s enter shall
we super
fun okay front door original front door
so I’ve been here for just a little bit
not very long
so got to let’s see switch on the lights
okay yep um we’re going to come into the
first room here all right so sitting
room here this is not my furniture I’m
going to get rid of it however I did
find these side tables at the market so
at the flea market so these little side
tables there one of my purchases you can
see the original Stone we will be
obviously keeping some some of that but
not necessarily some of the
designs there’s the other side table so
I love it I wanted these I don’t know
where I can use them so you need to get
them these are my chairs €10 each got
six of them they’re going to go up in
the Terrace behind here is the mirror so
I did take a picture of this before they
wrapped it up the Morano glass mirror
and then these are the amazing sort of
antique lights yeah so antique how cute
wall lights right so amazing a set a
pair of these and then this I just loved
and they were like unalo unalo I’m like
a gift I’ll take it we like our tea so I
am a little bit of an angile and um or a
lot so that is the Fantastic tea tray so
this is the sitting room and then moving
into the kitchen where we came from the
outside there’s that huge window and
again lots to do I’m not going to keep
that table nor that desk
but it’s a huge kitchen which is great
just bought all my cleaning supplies
today so there you can see cleaning
supplies I did get a coffee maker of
course they have good coffee here and I
can just literally walk 30 seconds and
get some good coffee as well all of this
is going to be changed the floor the
kitchen everything but not these
original steps they are definitely going
to
stay then we’re going to move up here so
we’re going to uh this door is no longer
going to be a door because I don’t
really think we necessarily really need
two doors um so this is going to be a
we’re going to make it into a window so
that’s going to be a window moving up
the
stairs and coming into again all the
flooring is going to be changed that’s a
quick quick peek into my bedroom I’m not
going to give you too much one second
cuz it’s private but that’s my bedroom
it is actually really really big I’m
going to show you how to open up these
windows in a second turn off the
lights and we head down the hallway so
there’s the hallway here is the second
bedroom again everything’s going to be
changed oh yeah the light bulb went out
it’s like welcome to Italy so the light
bulb went out so use your imagination
but we’ll get you a great picture of
this original old door how fantastic is
that and yes I’m going to open up the
windows I’m going to show you how cuz I
had to learn like how do we open up
these windows
take it through here this is an enormous
bathroom whoop so okay sorry I still
don’t even know how to use the lights
nice one so a really really big bathroom
yeah doing some laundry there
enormous going to change all that so
that’s going to be we’re going to put a
bath in here and then we’re going to
break through this
wall and you’ll see why we’re going to
break through that wall
to go into the other bathroom and so
that big bathroom there is going to have
a bath I have to have a bath and it’s
also going to have a shower so that’s
where the shower is going to be we’re
going to break through and then this
will be storage here we’ll put up a wall
here so the bit bathroom will be big
with a shower and a proper bath of
course L this is going to be where the
storage area so I can put Linens mops
all that stuff cuz I need some
storage then heading down here back
across let’s open up window okay super
fun it’s like my I saved this for you
guys okay open it up now open it up okay
so watch so these they don’t open these
do not open here they don’t open so you
got to go you got to open that up and
then this little thing here on the side
yeah there hook it in and then I can see
my neighbor’s amazing laundry hanging
there it’s like everything I’m all about
the laundry all about hanging laundry
let’s do with the other one yep okay
little bit tricky uh cuz I’m trying to
do it with one hand everybody so it’s
okay okay maybe we’ll get leave that for
later here there we go I got it it’s
really hard with one hand okay fantastic
heading up now so I’m not sure what
we’re going to do with this
whoops uh Malcolm is going to let me
know heading up to the greatest just the
best oh and it is my view and my big
Terrace okay so here’s my Terrace it’s
big it’s hot today hot hot hot there’s
that other chair yeah so there we’re
going to have a table and chairs up
here and it’s super big there’s the
church oh my gosh I can’t wait and then
these are my clothes pins look at this
this has made my day these clothes pins
no it’s made my week it’s made
everything but look at my view from all
kind of four sides if you like I
couldn’t be happier and the bells
ringing make me even happier so I love
it here I hope you guys will all come
and stay cuz I will be airb being it out
and you can walk everywhere you can walk
to the Piaza you can walk you walk
everywhere well I mean within the town
um anyway this is my new house and super
I’m just unbelievably excited about it
all right I’m showing you guys my
Terrace and what I do every single
morning is I go to my local coffee shop
get my little um Double Espresso I do it
I can say it on doio
esoa they know now Americano but I still
like saying it and then I get to sit out
here on my
Terrace and I get to yeah look at that
there’s the church spire and I get to
drink my coffee and eat my Quant
although
it’s joural
Sundays not all
uh Jour non joury anyway okay I’m still
learning right I still have my lesson
three times a week and then of course
right there mhm wooden clothes pins
found those most exciting day of my life
was when I found those I I can’t I’m
going to write a book on the metaphor of
clothes pins and what it means to me
right now anyway there’s my view and my
coffee is behind me see if you can see
that there we go no the other way it’s
my gimbal there it is there’s my coffee
my
chair and me I’m about to go there and
there’s a there’s my Cornetto
um in the bag which would be Nella borsa
but I think that means purse so sat I
think it’s saato okay I’ll get back to
you on that one but still work in
progress okay I’m going to leave you so
my coffee doesn’t get too
cold give you like just a brief um walk
if you like I’m using my gimbal got my
keys okay walk to how close like the
nearest um not the nearest the patas is
right there how close it is so we’ve got
basically my house behind me it’s
beautiful sunshine here there’s my house
it’s
fantastic and today I’m going to be
looking at all of the plans that Malcolm
did for me so all of the drawings I’m
going to show you that and then I’m
going to be heading
to um this amazing flea market so just
like like the best flea market in well
really the best market for T Mari in all
of Italy but I’m also going to be going
to this um recuperando I’ll put all the
details in there cuz I’m going to be
filming that I’m going to put my mask on
because everybody here no matter what if
you’re outside it’s you it’s mandatory
really to wear your masks outside so bar
Richi is like the most popular kind of
bar
cafe I’m going to head to my little one
which is across the way cuz it just
gives
me a great view but this is zando that’s
how close it is to my house so the
square the Piaza incredible and I’ll
definitely be giving you all some
history on this Fountain so this
fountain came from
Florence and it’s pretty special so I’ll
give you some history on that as well um
but welcome to a blue sky day
Fano okay I’m going to sit and have my
coffee hi everybody um I’m really
excited today because I made two
purchases for kind of like my first
renovation if you like the first
renovation is going to be outside
lighting so I need to be able to have
like sensor lighting so when I unlock my
door at night I can like see my keys so
Annette and I Annette showed me this
extraordinary lighting place it like
over three floors and this is my first
purchase it’s going to be installed
tomorrow so hopefully I’ll be able to
film that that’s going to go over the
front door and then as many of you know
because you’ve watched the um video uh
the first video about how I bought a
house during the pandemic here in Italy
I have a second door even though through
in once we get fully into the
renovations I’m going to be
sort of building the wall up and making
it into a window but it still needs a
sensor light outside so I thought this
was really beautiful and sort of goes
with the um historic features so it
looks very and it probably is anyway
it’s made in Italy it’s all I really
care about so both of these lights
obviously made in Italy and then right
here are literally all of the drawings
that Malcolm um has done for me so
Malcolm has done just extraordinary
drawings so if you’re wondering who
Malcolm is Malcolm is our interior
designer at maon and when we were
starting to renovate the house at maon a
few years ago obviously it’s um a grade
one listed house which means it’s of
exceptional historical value so you have
to be very careful with what you do with
it and that’s why we brought in malcol
um that’s his expertise and he’s kindly
Malcolm thank you helping me with my uh
Picolo Caza so these are uh all the
drawings that Malcolm has done I’m going
to give I’m going to do a close-up of
these so that you can actually see them
but these are all the drawings that he’s
done and the first uh real big
renovation that we’re going to start on
is the bathroom right now we’ve got sort
of upstairs there’s one bathroom here
one space and then there’s actually
another space um separated by a wall
that could have a have a DOA could have
a shower and that’s what we’re going to
do so these in fact are two different
spaces right now but what we want to do
is cuz currently the shower is here we
want to put a huge bath I’m a bath girl
so I have to have a bath big bath there
um stone or marble sink uh you’ve got
the lose here and then the windows here
and then we’re going to break through
this wall and put the shower there so
the shower is going to go there then
we’re going to erect a wall here
and within this space is where the lavat
tree so the uh washing machine is going
to go and then I’ll have lots of
shelving in order to store Linens and
towels and that um as far as the floor
goes I’ll be talking to you about what
we’re doing with the floor but obviously
ital is known for its tiles and Ceramics
so it’s going to be amazing and fun to
find that so this just kind of gives you
an idea of what we’re looking at we
might do a line of paint there so one
color down here and then sort of uh you
know whitish color up here here is again
in that little space where we’re
erecting that wall is where the laundry
is going to be with uh
shelving and then we’re back into the
big bathroom we’ll have a heated uh
towel rail again the line of paint there
we’ve got to pick up paint colors the
bath there’s my bath obviously Malcolm
knows that I love a bath we’re we’re
going to put new new doors throughout
and then this is the wall we’ll be
breaking through through and creating
the shower through there so this is the
first big project is going to be the
bathroom so tomorrow is kind of a big
meeting to look at the bathroom plans
and but also fingers crossed I can get
these um exterior lights installed so by
the way just so you know you’re in the
kitchen right now the kitchen is very
big you’re going to see in the plans
that we have plan that we have pln to
put a sofa in here as well but you can
see also out through my window here just
extraordinary this big window just
extraordinary views of the hills um
behind me and yeah so I want to make the
kitchen just someplace that we can also
eat but also hang out as well cuz I
suspect we’re probably doing a lot of
the entertaining and eating on the
Terrace above okay I’m literally sitting
in my new bath literally sitting in this
is it everybody this is the bath
I’m sitting in it cuz I just needed to
try it out for size to make sure that my
legs could expand and they do what do
you guys think I am over the moon happy
I want to scream it’s literally like
this is sorry super exciting for me so
you just saw me in the bath this is the
bath that’s going to be in my new
bathroom and but we’re just looking
right now to see if somebody can
obviously uh uh basically clean this up
and in one sense almost like reglazes
we’re very used to this at map Ron so we
had have had to do this with several
several of our
bathtubs as you saw this is my new light
and love it love it so one thing that my
house doesn’t have is exterior exterior
lights so I’ve just had Stephano here
and we’re going to hang this one on this
the center above and and then the switch
he’s going to um put sort of the wire
around secretly um and then there’s a
switch on the right hand side when you
go into the house and that will turn it
on and off so this is going to go there
and I’m going to have him come back in
the um cuz he’s got to get some bids um
I’m going to have him come back when I’m
back here in the next couple of weeks so
I’ve got his number I’m going to text
him and he’s going to install this but I
do think it’s very pretty what do you
think my I mean I’m very very happy with
this one and then I’m going to show you
the one around to the side where I’m
going to also install that one
too so this one look at the color it’s
very very similar to kind of the color
of my house so this one is going to go
right here remember the plan is to take
out this door and to put in a half wall
there and then make this a window but
this the lights underneath I can’t even
reach but it’s going to go above there
as as well and then Stephano said no
problem he can take the wire through and
in fact I can actually see the light
switch there so I can see the light
switch there so that is going to happen
when I come back in about 2 and a half
weeks all this is going to be installed
I’m going to get it in the diary with
him and I will have external lights so
it’s like my first big renovation well I
mean I guess the bathroom is but anyway
I’m very excited about this cuz I love
the
I went out to get lunch and I was going
to get a takeaway you know what I mean
like something I could take away as I’ll
cook it at home or I’ll get it a
takeaway and this restaurant that
Annette told me was really good I was
like oh do you have um anything for
takeaway they’re like no you can anyway
I I should learn that Italians don’t
really do takeaway and they’re like just
sit in our garden so how cute is this
I’ve ordered my beer and I think I’m
going to have
tagi so um yeah super excited and I’m
going to order in

okay I’ve just finished
lunch you would have seen and
everybody’s
obviously still sort of taking a pause
very quiet in the Piaza apart from that
person who’s just slamed their car J but
other than that it’s very quiet and
beautiful welcome to the bathroom and
this is the first room that um I’m going
to be renovating and in fact hopefully
it’s going to start next week uh there’s
so much going on in this room but I’m
really excited about what it’s going to
look like so you can see over here a
little bit here this is where the shower
is right now it’s like an open shower
and I’m going to be putting that bath
that I found right here so again with
the bath we’re going to keep the Rusted
effect on the outside we’ll put a clear
coat around it so that it doesn’t rust
anymore but the inside will be
completely redone I am a bath girl so I
have been
turned when I first moved to England
over 20 years ago I was like where’s the
shower and where are the power showers
like why is this trickling out anyway
they’ve definitely definitely approve
improved um and I do have power showers
uh well places where I stay all
throughout England but I have become
such a bath person uh that I needed to
get one of those big antique uh historic
baths and I found it and even my husband
was like we have to have a bath in the
bathroom I’m like I know don’t worry I’m
looking so I was really excited when I
found that so that Bath’s going to go
here you’ve seen the plans we’re going
to be doing a we’re going to strip out
all this tile doing a line of paint all
the way around I need to pick out that
paint color and then over here yesterday
I was like wait a minute I wonder if
there’s real the original Stone um
behind here so I texted um Marco the
geometra and I was like
behind iluro is there a Petra and he was
like suur which means yes I’m surely
there is so um so I my plan is to
continue the line of paint around here
and then expose the stone the original
Stone here so I’m just going to switch
the camera around so you can see where
we are putting the shower because we are
putting in a
shower so this is kind of the other side
of the bathroom and you can see um how
it’s sort of all is laid out so here we
are going to break through this wall and
on the other side of this wall which
I’ll show you in a second was where kind
of a makeshift shower was I don’t even
know if it ever really existed but it
was clearly plumbed to be a shower we’re
going to break through this wall and
that will become the shower so this
bathroom will have um a huge bath which
is basically where the camera is right
now is where the the bathtub will be the
basa and then we’ll keep the layout of
the Beday and uh the L right there
obviously thinking about making this
wall um into the Petra uh stone wall um
because Marco said uh that
he’s um
aluro okay I think that that was close
enough so basic basically he’s pretty
certain that there is Stone that there’s
the original Stone behind um the wall so
we’re going to break through this and
then this um uh lavend which is the sink
for now I’m going to keep it the same
until I find something that I like I
definitely want a marble sink Maro so uh
when I was at Fort De Mari uh the other
day I was looking for a marble sink and
there’s so many so I’m just going to
take my time to find it but we’ll
creating a whole new area here here um
that I can that I can store things this
washing machine is going to go to the
other side so I’m going to show you in a
second we’re actually going to seal off
once you go into the shower we’re going
to put up another par uh which is
another word for wall parete and then uh
create storage so there still will be
another uh separate room so but this is
the land of marble Marble’s everywhere
here so because it’s everywhere here I
just want to take my time to find the
right marmel for my um for my lavenda so
I’m going to take you around to the
other side and show you what we’re going
to do with
that so this is another door right here
and we are going to keep this sort of
door entry but what we’re going to do is
you can see as I just showed you from
the other side we’re going to break
through that wall this was supposed to
be a shower I don’t think they ever
really used it as a shower but it’s set
up for one so we’re going to break
through here so that big bathroom will
also have a shower as well break through
here create the shower here and then put
up um par which also means wall
Muro par um and we will put up a wall
here so this will be the shower uh I
will find out really what’s D datro
behind the uh any of these tiles but
again I’m not going to expose the stone
wall in here it’s too small of a space
but once the p is erected then again
this tile will go away and I’ll be
creating different shelves so the
shelves because there’s not a lot of
storage here so I need to be able to put
obviously all my linens and just to um
the oh the washing machine’s going to go
in here as well so the washing machine’s
going to go in here as well and putting
in all my linens and just cleaning
supplies etc etc so it is still going to
be a separate room but the shower is
going to be a part of that big bathroom
all right everybody this time I’m
hanging my
laundry with the wooden clothes pins and
this one doesn’t have wooden clothes
pins on it so that was quite easy to
hang but I’ve just done my laundry and a
lot of you have given me some really
good tips about how to hang it the right
way so a lot of you have suggested and
to go kind of hang it from the bottom
so here’s a t-shirt so I’m going to take
your recommendation and I’m going to
hang it from the bottom okay I just hope
I don’t drop it so if I do drop it then
it would go on my well no it would land
there so it’d be fine but um so tell me
if this is right okay that looks pretty
good to me right so that looks pretty
good so it’s perfect like warm day just
my sheets I can’t wait to sleep it with
these tonight like having them like nice
and clean and the fresh kind of smell of
clean CLE cleanliness obviously but also
kind of being dried by the Sun so I
think there’s something pretty special
about this now this is a bit tricky so
somebody told me not to hang it from the
shoulders so this one I think I’m just
going to flip on over I think unless
anybody else listen you can always tell
me in the comments below like what you
would recommend for a jumpsuit
but I think that could be it and
actually there’s a strap so I’m going to
take this strap off because then it will
get all like wrinkly
is and do that it’s perfect it’s looking
kind of good so yeah this is like
something I have to be honest I
absolutely love to do so it is it’s very
satisfying very very satisfying by the
way your tips were fantastic um
obviously I’ve got some yoga trousers
here so I think I’m just going to hang
them up from the waist right I mean I
guess I could flip them over but I think
they’re they’re all right here loving my
new clothes pins wooden um somebody said
to be careful when it rains that was a
really good tip so I think what I’ll do
is when I head back to England I’ll just
put these cloes pins away and like store
them so that they don’t get rained
anyway I’ve got um a little bit more to
go and here’s a pillowcase you probably
don’t want to watch me do the whole
thing so I think pillowcase I can also
hang kind of that way rather than going
over I think also these are clean the
railings are clean I cleaned them so
they’re nice and clean fantastic so
that’s all good so then I’ll sleep on
like a nice oh I hope that hooked it a
nice sunshine
sort of sunshin dried pillowcase and

place that I just literally happened
upon of course they know Anette is

this I’m getting this for Albano they’re
going to put marble and take marble on
top of it and then I’ll find my lavend
later look at this place look at this
flea market
everybody I mean it’s
unbelievable it’s just I mean you could
spend days here which I plan on doing at
some point but not today I’m doing this
piece by piece so we ended up not going
for the one that I just showed you and
got really excited about even though
that was beautiful it was a bit too high
for the bathroom so it would be good for
like a kitchen um I may still get it for
the kitchen but we’re going for this one
here so this is it this is going to go
into the bathroom and this is much
better much better it’s much better size
I called Malcolm Malcolm was like can’t
get that other one it’s too big and then
we’d have to put the sink in in it and I
want a sink on top of it so we’re going
to she’s going to find me a nice piece
of um antique marble put it across there
and then we’ll put uh the sink that I
will eventually find on there and she’s
going to sand all this down and get it
to its natural color and then I’ll
decide later what color I want it
painted few this is the marble right
here that’s going to be I’m going to
pick one of these today that’s going to
be placed on my basically my dresser
that’s going to go into the
bathroom but there’s doors up there like
I’m going to pick some of those old
doors I mean this is just the outside
you’ve seen a tiny bit of the inside but
it is
literally a treasure Trove I don’t even
but I’m going to walk away with
something else here today cuz I have
to here are bed
frames the doors are what really
interest me here so I’m definitely
looking at those doors up there this is
my marble she’s just cleaned it off this
is the marble for the table
beautiful okay I’m in heaven here
they’ve taken me into a completely
another room with just all these
wardrobes it’s insane one of these
wardrobes will be going into one of my
bedrooms oh my this is nuts crazy
insane I’m in yet another room I hope
you’re not getting bored of this but
look at look at the lights

curtains just it’s everywhere I’m going
to definitely get one of these lights my
cousins just bought something too which
is
fantastic okay I’m heading to this
amazing Antiques Market that I’ve just
found out there’s my house I’m leaving
it that I’ve just found out is happening
here in Fano um so I’m super excited you
guys know how much I love vintage in
fact I’m wearing a a little tour of my
street here there you go I’m wearing my
1940s dress so I’m just going to give
you a little little glimpse of that a
1940s dress coming right up here we go
so this is my 1940s dress with my
Italian velvet
shoes so I think I’m definitely dressed
the part to head into um this Antiques
Market which I’m really excited about
and hopefully that I find uh something
this is just my street so one side of
the street I should say so you you can
see how sweet it is and it’s beautifully
colored and fantastic Blue Sky just
wonderful and very very quiet which I
like as well so there’s the square I’m
going to head up here and look at the
market there are some noisy motorcycles
behind me but we’re coming into the
square now from a different angle and
this is the Antiques Market so I’m going
to hopefully find something I’ve already
spotted a mirror that I quite like how
lovely is this woohoo so excited this is
like my dream come true an Antiques
Market 30 seconds from my house amazing

then I can take it in the K kitchen
unina and then up to the Terrace it’s
absolutely beautiful it’s like perfect

to go have an apparao with an nette so
I’m just going to keep my exterior
lights on so when I walk home tonight
from the Piaza it will be all lit up I
can’t begin to tell you how happy I am I
have two working exterior lights and the
first renovation is done

my bathtub lavasa that I found in a flea
market has been shipped to Florence it
is now being restored um I’m using an
amazing place in Florence called Alex
Vash it’s incredible so I’m so happy I
can’t wait to see the final final
result I have just arrived into Florence
because of course Florence has opened up
I’ve been in
vivano and this is my cute little room
it’s literally in the heart of Florence
like I’m like a hop skip and a jump from
The
Duo but it’s super cute the only thing
it’s missing is instead of having unasa
it has unula which is a shower I’m such
a bath girl but that’s okay so yeah I’ll
give you guys uh the information down
below where I stayed and also it’s
really affordable like this is a bed and
breakfast in the heart of Florence
that’s just perfect for me and very
affordable I’m on ponu and usually
there’s cues of people here just to get
right where I’m at which is here and
they’re AR which means I get to get here
and show you wonderful amazing Florence
and of course
Pono
Bima okay I’ve made it on the wall
parched myself up here so you can see
Florence I have my sandwich I’m so
excited um there it is you can see p beo
there but you can tell that there’s
still not a lot of people here and it’s
true so I’m here I’m going to show you
my sandwich of course I went to the
sandwich place and yeah lovely to be
here I’m just going to relish these
moments of peace with just not a lot of
people people here yet all right here is
my sandwich and I asked them to do
vegetarian I have a beer obviously there
so they did peino arugula there’s oine
on there as well as Pomodoro
zucchini and tartufo which is that it’s
like a well I did that’s truffle but I
did like a cream truffle so that’s my
sauce how brilliant is that yummy and a
beer and here here I am Florence so
happy definitely a lot busier even
though it didn’t seem like it than uh
when I was here gosh a year ago in
August so definitely busier here
but it’s still not that busy and have to
be honest I have not heard one single
American accent yet so I’m hoping that
the Americans are coming

Florence wonderful this is the most
insane Market this is literally a
snapshot like a snapshot it goes all the
way around the building in the middle
and the building in the middle is filled
with fresh pasta fresh meat uh cheese
fish this and then there’s it goes all
the way down there there’s my finger

heat doesn’t you know uh basically
bleach it out or lighten it if you like
like right first up is an inside out
pillowcase so here is an inside out

out and I’m going to hang it so that
it’s inside out and you can see it’s
open there and I think I’ve done the
right job here right by the way if I’m
doing again if I do this wrong you must
tell me in um you must to tell me in the

for the past 20 minutes my daughter’s
coming to stay with friends and there’s
not enough beds so I’ve and obviously I

rooms yet so that’s after the bathroom
so and it’s really hot here today so I’m
at my last blow up I think I’ve been
doing this for 20 minutes the reason I
didn’t film all this is
because I didn’t think you wanted to
watch blowing up for 20 minutes but
things I do for my children so I thought
I’d fill filmed the last bit where I’ve
got the blow by the way so I ordered
this it came and it didn’t come with a
pump like I didn’t I couldn’t read it in
Italian like I didn’t know when I
ordered it online if it came with a pump
or not I mean my Italian’s okay but like
there are some words I don’t know what
the word for pump is um or blowup bed so
I know letto is bed but like I don’t
know what blowup bed is so I didn’t get
the pump so I’ve just been doing it

myself oh and how I’ve been doing it I’m
doing loads of laundry right now and
anytime I pass by this room I do 20
puffs into um into the bed so 20 breaths
I should say into the bed and then I
pass it again and then I do another 20
breaths and then pass it again anyway
I’m going back and forth so I’m getting
my breathing I figure I’m getting my
breathing exercise um in by doing this
but I’m almost done you’re going to see
me complete it I’m super excited

is so comfortable vivano has a beautiful
Piaza with an incredible Fountain made
by a medich grand duuk and also it has
an extraordinary Cathedral Church right
in the Piaza the poet kuchi called it a
lost Pearl in the
mountains so right behind my
house is that extraordinary water right
behind theano the cascate Deano AKA B
Del fat the fairy ponds and it took us
about 5 minutes to drive to it if you
want to walk it’s about a 30 minute walk
cuz you’re going way up high it’s of
course in the lunana north Tuscany it’s
a local Beauty Spot and and as you can
see really visited by all locals apart
from me and Emma say hi

and we’re going to maybe go into the
waterfall yes maybe maybe we’re yeah
we’re we just kind of got to like wait
our turn

on the second Sunday in July every year
here in Fano there’s a historical and
folkloristic event it’s like a challenge
between the land and the court archers
it was so fun to
watch okay Emma and I were hanging up
laundry and we heard all this noise
going on in the square and there’s like
something going on I’m going to show you
guys so
exciting we have no idea what we’re
doing but we’re going to follow the
crowd and see where it goes we are still
following
them amazing this is
amazing my goodness oh my God
in 1571 in today’s Patza medich here in
Fano a singular challenge was held
between the archers belonging to the
Earth and those of the surrounding
districts really it consisted of
shooting an arrow with the bow that had
to hit a Target placed at 30 m in the
month of July of every year since 1971
this historical event of the quote
unquote challenge between the land
archers and the court is repeated here
we witnessed the parade of 16th century
costumes in the Flag City accompanied by
flag waivers musicians Knights and even
guest groups from other cities as

we’ve got friends there they’ve inv
invited me to stay so I’ve got my mask
ready to go I’m so excited so I’m going
take the train because fan is on one
side of tesiny and Cortona is like
literally on the other side they could
be further away from each other but it’s
going to be worth a trip here comes my
train

so I feel like I’ve really loed out
because it’s Market day and everybody’s

the 12th best and we’re going to get

gosh what an incredible day we have
literally had I just kind to say it’s
Parise it’s usually like packed here
to be honest I me know it looks busy but
apparently it’s like shoulder to
shoulder and we haven’t had really any
of that to be
honest there are not a lot of people
here as you can see I think chinua here
is usually packed and this is pretty
empty so I’m going to savor this for the
rest of my
life you’re just on the rocks down below
for most of the
day heading back to Fano and this is my
regional train super
excited just as I’m walking to dinner to
meet Annette I have been seeing these
amazing people out all day and they must
there’s a competition going on um and
they’re doing uh
obviously I mean they started with a
blank slate and they’re their sculptures
so um fantastic they’re not finished but
I’m going to give you a little sneak
peek of them around this is the that’s
why there’s you’re not allowed to park
in the Square at all this week cuz
there’s so much going
on this one could be my favorite so this
I mean there’s so much going on in Fano
it’s kind of nuts every day I wake up
I’m like what else is there happening
today but look at this this one they’re
not even finished amazing
