Nothing unethical about Matera. You could say that about almost everywhere. Prior to 1900 most of the Western the world lived on less than a dollar a day in today’s terms. Extreme poverty was the way of the world until fairly recently.
Appreciate the video, I'm heading there next month and trying to build an itinerary.
But I wish you spoke more about where to go, where to eat, what to see, travel tips, where to park, etc.

Ostuni-Gallipoli-Monopoli-Polignano a Mare-Fasano-Lecce-Brindisi is my favourite triangle in puglia. Beautiful beaches, great food and drinks all provided by people that know how to live very close to heaven, while firmly rooted to their home soil.
As someone from the area, the description of Matera is very depressing and ridiculous…I mean, ethical implication? Do you know that the entire country was at was at some point, and got destroyed like most of Europe? Is this what you think of when you wonder in the streets of Rome? Came on…
Thank you. Very interesting. I am planning a trip to Puglia in a year or so. And then I have to ask you if Puglia really is pronounced Apuglia?? I want to say it right when I am there. I have never heard it pronounced like Apuglia anywhere before now.
