WHISKEY CHEERS 😎
Prices at my local stores are getting insane! Very interesting video man!
I hit up a store or two when I was in Venice, Florence, and Rome last year. No luck but had a great time drinking red wine and enjoying the cuisine. Although a pub in Venice did have Buffalo trace at €4 a pour and they were free handing them bad boys to like half a rocks glass
That store is actually an amazing store, it's super cool inside, with a very good selection. And Italy is actually a country where you can get a very decent selection of whiskies, in even many smaller stores. As an American in Europe, we take what we can get.
Keep in mind that all those Bourbons and Canadians are coming from way over there. So, it would cost more to ship it over. Also, prices have gone up very considerably in the past couple of years.
The selection and prices for Scotch and Irish are very good and much better and cheaper than you'd pay in the US. Go figure.
Canadian Club has age statements all the way to 45 years.
What? No gin? LOL. Looks like y'all had a great honeymoon. Cheers
Great video, Trev. I'm glad to see you both had a great time. 🙂
They got Penelope in friggin Italy but we can't get it in Washington/Oregon?? That's some BS.
Was the price in USD or Euro?
I recently found a huge grocery store in Milan that had 8-10 dust covered Eagle Rare for €39. Cheaper than a lot of liquor stores in MI.
I imagine the BT and Bulleit gets imported in such huge quantities that it isn't marked up nearly as high.
Just landed my 1st ever Eagle Rare 10 for $39. I love it. Now I know why it's so hyped up.
A Euro and a Dollar are not the same thing!
You know what they say, “when in Rome… buy wine, not bourbon”
Widow Jane Rye in my area is $50-60
that's not dollars it pounds and it actually more than what that says if you put it in dollars
You can find the Signature Craft here in the states…I have a bottle of the 11yr soft red wheat that is pretty good stuff
What was the exchange rate for Euros in Florence? I think the best rate now is about 1 Euro = $1.07 USD>
Funny to see the Kentucky Spirit priced below BevMo. In Florence ffs. If you take the conversion rate into account BevMo charges $5 more. Lulz.
I got a Yellowstone tube. I think they only did it the first year or first release. I had Steve Beam sign it last Sept. He was up here for a bottle release.
are the prices in euros or dollars?
The prices shown are euros. So, with conversion the $ price is even higher!!
Interestingly, Bulliet is really popular and readily available in Central America and the Caribbean as well. At least in Guatemala, El Salvador and the DR…
@The Bourbon Wrench The European Union right now has a 50% tariff on American whiskey due to us having a tariff on there whiskey.
It's all imported
FEW is good ,Bourbon and Rye is good. Some Widow Jane's are good.
All European bottles are 700ml., unless you can get on a U.S. military base.
I probably won’t have pulled the trigger on the Rare Breed. Not gonna lie.
The Jim Beam 12 yr looks interesting. I would have tried one.
That’s the same store I went to while I was in Italy back in December. Very nice people.
You sure that Rare Breed wasnt the Traveler Exclusive, Non-chill Filtered? I think $100 for that bottle is fair, as it is FANTASTIC.
Yea hunting in Europe was interesting. Plus it’s all in euros so conversion makes it even worse. Fun video. Congrats. Cheers
I would have picked up the JB 12 year just because it isn’t something we see over here but the other prices make no sense. And I’d be drinking Bulliet when in Italy. Just saying.
Cool, Trev! We fly one week from tomorrow to Italy! Two days each in Venice, Florence, and Rome before getting on the ship for 10 days throughout the western Mediterranean. This just builds the excitement!
The Jim Beam Signature Craft 12yr is a great bottle. Killed one at a bar in St. Thomas with my uncle a while back. I'd pick one up at that price if I was randomly in Florence haha
The prices in this video are in Euros. The conversion rate at this time was $1.08 for every 1 euro. For instance, the 120 euro bottle would’ve actually cost me $130. It’s pretty negligible on smaller purchases, but adds up over larger purchases!
I didn’t explain this for simplicity sake as I feel like the fact of the matter remains the same; some of these prices are dang expensive! Cheers to economics nerds!
In Paris i found Weller 12 for like 45-50 euros. In Germany i bought Eagle Rare for like 35 euros/37 dollars .
Why would anyone ever been bourbon hunting in Italy????????????????
Excellent video looks like You had a great🥂
Great video thanks for sharing. Hope you guys had a great time.❤
so what you stuck to wine … 🥃
Bulliett is owned by Diageo so it is in every country. You'll find JD and Bulliett in every shop everywhere. It was the only "decent" bourbon I found in Chile
The exchange rate, 💵 $1 USD = 💶 0.85 EUR 👎
When I was in Northern Italy in the cities of Cogne and Courmayeur, all I could find was thr JD Single barrel select. Which turned out to be pretty good select bottles. I think they were 60-65 Euros like you saw
