Welcome back everyone to Katherine’s plates today I am going to show you how to make a ravioli lasagna bake your whole family is going to love this one it’s fun to put together and delicious to eat y’all come on over here and let’s start we’re going to make that delicious

Pasta sauce first we’re going to start in a skillet over medium high heat I’m going to add one pound of ground beef now you can also use one lound of ground sausage if you like that I would do the Italian sausage but we’re going to do

The ground beef and you only need one pound for this recipe I’m going to start breaking it up now as this is going to start Browning I’m going to go ahead and add in half of a bell pepper that I diced very small and then I’ve got a medium

Yellow onion half of one then I dice that one up really small also so let’s go ahead and add that That way you can start softening down as the ground beef is Browning up now when we go out to eat to an Italian restaurant this is my husband Thomas’s favorite dish to find on the menu a ravioli bake yes you’ll get it every time so I’m going to make it for

Them the ground beef is nice and browned up and and the peppers and onions have softened down let’s flavor this up I’m going to add in 1 tblspoon of butter now I did drain out any excess grease from the ground beef so we’re going to add

Some more fat in there but it’s going to be flavored and that’ll help cook down the garlic that I’m going to put in we’re going to cook this down for 1 minute it’ll release those delicious flavors this is kind of a bologan sauce that I love to use for any kind of a

Italian dishes that I make it’s a favorite we’re going to add our sauce now you’re going to need 24 oz of your favorite pasta sauce we’re going to add it in and then I’m going to put in about A4 I’m going to fill it up about a

Quarter of the way up with water give it a shake and pour that in first we’re going to save a cup of the sauce for later use in the recipe and then add the rest of that jar to your meat and let me go get the water all

Right give that a shake get all that goodness out of the jar now because of the tomato sauce in our dish I’m going to add 1 tblspoon of white granulated sugar this will cut down on the acidity and that will help my husband with these dishes and then you’re going to take

Some Italian seasoning and don’t be afraid of this we’re going to pour it in couple tablespoons give it some flavor we’re going to go in with some salt about half a teaspoon we’ll give it a check later for flavor we need to add anymore we will and we’re going to go in

With about 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper we’re going to stir this all together we’re going to turn down the heat to like a medium medium low and then we’re going to let this simmer for 5 minutes pull all those flavors together make sure you put a spoon through it give it a

Taste almost forgot to taste my sauce all right it’s hot so make sure you blow on it M that’s delicious while the meat mixture is simmering you can go ahead and make your cheese mixture in just a medium Bowl I’m going to place in 8 oz of mozzarella

Cheese to that we’re going to add one cup of cottage cheese or you could even do the ricotta cheese I grew up with cottage cheese in our Italian dishes so that’s what we’re using going to shake in some parsley well this dish is all about Flavor here we go about one tablespoon

I’m going to take a fork blend that together there we go let me show you how I’m going to assemble our ravioli lasagna bake in a 9×13 baking dish we’re going to start by putting half of that reserved pasta sauce that we got out of the jar onto

The bottom of our baking dish and spread it around evenly that’s good right there just going to take a pastry brush and slather it around keep the lasagna from sticking all those raviolis I’m just going up the size a little bit too there we go using a pack frozen ravioli we’re

Using the cheese ones if you want to use the beef ones you can certainly do that we’re going to place one layer of the ravioli now they’re still frozen on the bottom of our 9×13 baking dish on top of that sauce hey y’all let us know are you

Doing the cheese ravioli or are you doing the meat ravioli there we go we’re going to place half of our meat mixture on top of the ravioli and just kind of make it nice and even there all right that looks good there we’re going to take half of our

Mozzarella cottage cheese mixture and just dollop it over the meat mixture it’ll melt on in there let us know also if you are a cottage cheese or a rotta fan I’m a big cottage cheese fan for sure okay that looks really good nice and mixed and we got half of it left

Over for the next layer another layer of ravioli place it in a single layer yeah you can get the big bag I’m using the uh 48 o size just find it in your frozen section of your grocery store now what we’re going to do is put the rest of the meat mixture on

Top all right there we go all right we’re going to dollop the rest of that cheese mixture on top we still got layers y’all you got it one more layer ravioli we’re going to take the rest of that sauce which was a half a cup and I

Added 1/4 cup of water and just mix that together and then we’re going to pour that over the raviolis we’re going to sprinkle 8 oz of mozzarella cheese across the top we’re going to place this in the oven that’s been preheating at 350° for about 30 to 40 minutes till

That cheese is nice and golden brown I’ll be back here’s our dinner we have garlic bread here is the main attraction right here look at this ravioli lasagna bake I just topped it with a little bit of parsley we let it sit for about 10 minutes to kind of just pull itself

Together and then we’re going to finish it off we we’ve got our salad right here I’m going to serve it up give it a try for you all right there’s my plate those raviolis are puffy with that sauce very tender give me a thumbs up on

  1. Oh my ….you are speaking to my husband he loves this kind of food. Yummy Catherine😋This must smell so good while you are making it. Taste even better!!!

  2. I love cottage cheese. I eat it with everything. But being Italian it has no business in lasagna or raviolis. It has to be ricotta. My Italian grandmother would roll in her grave in we put cottage cheese in her recipes. Sorry.😊

  3. I put this together this morning before work, so that I would only have to pop it in the oven when I get home. The only frustrating part I had was that about the last 7 raviolis were doubled because I couldn't get them apart! I didn't have time to thaw and get them apart, so I just used them stuck together! Anyone have any ideas on how to get them apart for the next time? It was 6am, so I didn't have time to thaw and cutting made a dangerous mess.😐

  4. Wow! Kiss your brain Ms. Catherine this looks amazing, l enjoy your creative in recipes, definitely giving this a try. Thank you, for jazzing up our family dinners. Blessings you and your family.❤

  5. I grew up eating cottage cheese…we loved it! But Ricotta is good too🤗 I’ve never met a cheese I didn’t LOVE😂😂😂😂 This looks like an amazing recipe!! And garlic bread…mmmmm🥰❤🫶

  6. I remember my mom making homemade ravioli. I make lasagna quite often. Never thought to combine the two. I will definitely make this soon!

  7. Using ravs instead of lasagna is BRILLIANT!!!! After the 80s, I could never drain the pasta well enough. The watery mess was sad.

  8. Hi Catherine, this looks fun to make! I wouldn't have thought to put cottage cheese in with it, but I'll definitely give this a try. Sadly not tonight because I don't have all the ingredients and we are currently snowed in. And it's supposed to keep snowing for the next several hours. But maybe tomorrow night for dinner! I'm going to make it exactly how you have done this. My husband isn't a big ricotta cheese fan but I'm going to use the cheese ravioli anyway because it'll give this delicious looking dish another depth of flavor.

  9. This Rivioli Lasagna dish is to die for . please can you message me info on how to make this. I have trouble remembering and could mess it up. We don't want that to happen. Thank you.
