Intelligent but maybe because of the music that kind of projected our plight so when they asked me to stand represent them I Agree Bob came to Parliament today to be sworn in as the new MP for chondo County East he won a recent byelection with over 34 of the people’s vote I Robert swear in the name of the almighty God that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to the Republic of Uganda and that I will Preserve protect and defend the Constitution so Help I’ve come to Parliament at a very sensitive time a time when there’s an impending Bill to lift the age limit for the presidency um I’ve just taken an oath to defend reserve and protect the constitution of the Republic of Uganda and that is going to be my major major goal right [Applause]
Now president KAG uh welcome to this show and thank you for talking to Al thank you Mr President it seems that ugandans are a little bit fed up with you because it’s more than three decades of your leadership and the world around Uganda has changed all presidents around
Uganda have gone but you so do do you agree with me that there is a little bit of you know fatigue we had elections about one year ago and I got my party got uh 62% of the vote so that does not show that uh the people of Uganda are fed up
Of our party because they have voted for us five times after five terms you are now 71 or 72 I don’t know 72 in 3 years you will be you will reach the age limit and you can’t run for another term mhm are you going to run for another term we follow our
Constitution we follow so you’re not going to run for another ter we follow our constitution because you reach the age limit in 3 years and you will not run we follow the constition of Uganda is this something that is in the discussion now in Uganda that is
Speculation and I don’t have time for speculation here in Uganda members of parliament from the nrm will be seeking for leave of parliament to draft a private members Bill to scrap article 102 of the Constitution which means that President TR is able to stand come 2021 the heavy police deployment did not

Have the same struggle of Life they also want freedom and I know that one day they are going to join us and know that for sure it’s just a matter of timeable speaker and colleague members it has been said that there Comes A Time in the life of every nation
When it comes to a crossroad and must choose which way to go my friends if there is a time that Uganda has come to that point it is today and if there’s a parliament upon which history has best told a very big responsibility it is ours honorable speaker and members I
Have the rare opportunity to Traverse the whole country and everywhere been from north to south from the East to the West people are saying they not touch our constitution these people are connected to the world and they’ve been seeing what happens in countries around us where leaders thought that they can rule
Their countes for life and that is why they want to avoid it before it comes here today MERS we have a chance to solve the problems of our grandfathers and grandmothers we have the chance to do that we have the chance to reverse that and it is important that we serve our

Urinate he said L urinated in the morning and heated past his strong in his mind he even told one of the people that we went with who is um part of the struggle part of their team he told him even if I die now please make sure you don’t
Stop just keep going that will be just one person out of the league don’t Stop my husband is not and has never been in the military he has no military experience does not even know how to use a gun I’m sure I can’t differentiate between different guns out there then I wonder why is my husband killed in a military B what has he done to deserve [Applause] This for several days now police have continued their raids on camela and made multiple arrests of Bobby wine supporters protests in Uganda have led to more than 70 people being arrested in the capital Cala demonstrators bur tires and erected road block as well firing live rounds of ammunition hitting bystanders with stick we’re getting some reports of people being injured some possibly dead but none of that has been confirmed Yet I’m writing a letter to my dad cuz the government put him in prison for no reason dear Tata I hope you’re eating well in prison we aren’t allowed to see you but at least we can write to you I’m very scared but you and I should be strong from me loving the
Shalom the government put my dad in jail but they’re going to go on court this Thursday on 23rd so and I I I pray that they clear his name and he set free but I’m also scared protesters have marched in downtown Nairobi Kenya to demand the release of of an opposition lawmaker in
Neighboring [Applause] Uganda Com wine MP and musicians sat before a military Court in Gulu and after 10 days in military custody he looked exhausted and in pain the court Marshal prosecutor told him that the Army had withdrawn the charges of illegal possession of firearms you are accordingly set free unless being held on other
Charges Bobby wine was overcome by emotion but his freedom was not to be he was immediately handed over to the police to be charged with treason and sent to appear before a magistrate at the civilian Court in town you are charged off ofon HT and unw aimed and through stones and
Smashing the rare wind scream over the presidential car it is the considered opinion of this that their choosed person are allowed to access their private doctors at any time as to ensure that their health is guaranteed I so what kind of society we living in where democratic reelected politicians

Um I don’t know for how long we’ll be gone I’m worried about the children cuz they’re staying behind and the uncertainty that comes around that whole journey is just stressful the MP and former pop star Bobby wine who was released on baale in Uganda last week flew straight to Washington he’s
Been a staunch critic of President musani who’s led the country for more than 30 years uganda’s government denies Bobby wine was tortured and insists he should return to Uganda to face trial for treason good morning thank you very much for coming today uh we are very grateful and privileged

Resilience of ugandans to tell them that we still stand for justice equality freedom and dignity for everybody we represent the power of the people um ugandans have always been wanting Freedom they’ve always been wanting to be the masters of their Destiny they’ve always wanted to live in a country where
Leaders are servants and the people are the true Masters and do you think this is an isolated incident with you is there a a wider Uprising happening how much of a threat are you it is not just me so many other ugandans are going through the same the people that I was arrested with many were tortured in the the same manner
Actually others worse so I’m only speaking up not only for myself but for many other ugandans that are going through the same are you still scared what is your plan going forward I’m not scared because there’s nothing to be scared about uh living in Uganda is like not
Living at all um we’ve been in operation for the longest time I believe that the young people of Uganda especially um have a new Awakening um a new ownership of their country Uganda is my country I will never have any other country that is where I was born and that’s where I will
Die we are confident and we believe that the more we come together is uh we are going to be able to reclaim our country to reclaim our freedom and to reclaim our dignity and we are not going to give up Bobby wine Robert Amsterdam thank you

Was my age because I also know that power corrupt and corrupts absolutely so what’s important is to empower our people is the only way we can confir that never again will a president be a king in Uganda one last question are you hopeful for uganda’s future I’m very hopeful for uganda’s
Future I know that regardless of the operation I know that no matter how many people are tortured imprisoned or even killed I know that freedom will come to Uganda some someday today we never went to school because tata’s coming back everyone so excited that s coming back that they had they have to
Celebrate they are putting up balloons even they have cakes for Tata because you know people love Tata but not as much as we love him call stepen and bring a box of water and give it to them [Applause] our future president is back in Uganda that is our future
President we are going to stay in the house we the children are staying in the house that is going to come and greet you talk to you and then go outside and talk to those people so they can go so we going to open those Gates and those
People are going to come in we have to greet people talk to people no we going to talk to people they will be out here open [Applause] that the last stretch of a long journey home but Bobby wine didn’t receive a warm welcome upon arrival at Ina International
Airport a friend of the pop star turned politician filmed police waited for him on the Tarmac they’re bringing him straight here he was swept from the airport in this Convoy a few supporters raced to keep up some who tried to cheer him faced the Wrath of the army [Applause] the word was out Bobby wine was being allowed home a quick look to confirm it was him in the car and then the last last yards inside this vehicle Bobby wine returning home the very F that he’s been allowed to come here is a big political
Victory for him and the moment of Joy his [Applause] supporters he told them he would end three decades of one man’s Rule and in a country where 3/4 of the population is under 35 the promise is intoxicating A I’m sorry guys I’m totally exhausted but I’m finally home and I’m glad to be here I’m sorry I will be able to address a press conference much later but I’m glad to be home will you fight AR are you you going to fight I have come to continue
Exactly where I stopped I am going to fight on and like I said we must get our freedom or we shall die trying to get our freedom people power our power our power people Power People power is not a political party it’s a movement that unites all chain seing forces we don’t care about your tribe we don’t care about your religion anded we don’t care about your political affiliation we believe that today Uganda is divided into two parts the oppressors and the oppressed now we come together

Unauthorized distribution of food after opposition MP Francis Zak was seen delivering food to his constituents security operatives raided M municipality MP Francis Zak’s home and arrested him the MP is accused of Distributing food to his constituents contrary to the president’s directives about giving out food I’ll give it
Out this is people just arresting those who are get now this this idiot is you come I give you food you are an enemy they’re going to crush you that’s play was very painful some d fore speee spee It would not be wise for directions for me if you ask me and many many ugandans because of what we see that the scientific elections will not be viable they are not viable the scientific elections are for the benefit and advantage of the incumbents Only I give you a go ahead to fly your [Applause] umbrellas what was the cause ofar just no no we are not going to delay here they have taken documents we were preparing to take his signatures that we have collected from different parts of the country uh to the
Electoral Commission on Friday and uh many of those documents are now missing their plan is try and frustrate honorable ch’s being on the ballot paper that’s their plan man man man these guys are turning us into criminals in our own country they have literally deployed everywhere we’re living dangerously salutation yeah when they
Broke into my office they took all the signatures that we had collected for nomination yes for my nomination they even took some money I’m told they’ve taken to the tune of 23 million which we had fundraised to help our candidates nominate so where does it leave your aspirations to be president
Well we are not giving up we have immediately communicated to our branches to ensure that they start collecting the signatures immediately and hopefully by Friday we shall go to have the required signatures we had been able to collect over 7 million signatures and these guys took them
Away so we’re trying trying to now get all of them back um because you you should have 100 per district and I think so far we lack about how many district 18 18 about 18 districts which are not yet here yeah because if the if the commission is assists on the deadline of
Tomorrow then it means that we really really have to work extra extra hard to get these signatures in place today Today is the first step to the freedom of our nation and we hope to achieve it in the name of the almighty God I think they’re trying to delay me or to block me from reaching the nomination Center and time we should be in chambo in about an hour
If we to follow the appointment that The Honorable CH has with the election commission [Applause] Oh The Honorable does not have a lot of time on his handsies successfully nominated must have been supported by 100 registered voters from 98 districts we will also look for proof of payment of the nonrefundable fee of 20 million and we find that he has satisfied the requirements therefore I declare that s

Alliance for National transformation suspended the campaigns with a view that all of us should be given equal treatment and equal status members of the NM are congregating in high numbers and the issue of Co doesn’t arise I don’t know whether president M decided that Co attacks only those who are opposing
Him the incumbent has continued to campaign and [Applause] interrupted these people are in they are non social distancing most of them are not putting on masks and they are basically moving in total disregard of the coid 19 Health guideline mom me I’m very scared scar what Mommy you can’t be doing Mmy what else to do is look at that guy trying to point a gun at me like in a way to say why are you recording us look at him right here in the office it’s it’s a bullet that just went past my ear the minister of security General ell
