Hey everybody welcome back to Harland Productions I’m finally getting around to showing you the gny Dome S1 pizza oven so stay tuned watch the whole video don’t forget to subscribe and give me a thumbs up if you like the Video So first off I wanted to thank gsny they did send me this oven and the stand free of charge to test a review but I am going to give you my honest review of this oven I’m not associated in any way with gsny I just do this because I like
The products and I like to review and test them and give you all a honest opinion of of what to expect and what if they really are worth the money Etc so I guess we’ll start off right off the bat some of the main differences a lot of people are saying what’s the
Difference cuz they visually look very similar the well obviously I had the original Dome it actually came with bamboo so this one has a a better a hardwood so these are much nicer looking than the original one so if you had the old model 3 years ago you may have had
The bamboo ones the so the wood is much better on the stand that’s kind of a side note on the oven the S1 model is a gas only and and not only gas but it’s a actually liquid propane only so if you want a well I’ll get into all
The differences later but this is a gas version only and some of the main it’s really the same oven it has the same form feature this one is just slightly slightly smaller than the original Dome I think it’s overall a little bit less than an inch total on the exterior side
The interior is the exact same dimensions so it’s the same as the other Dome before I do a side by side with the old Dome I wanted to do a quick there are a few main differences that just kind of think things that are kind of strange like since this is gas only
There’s no wood compartment here so this thing if you pull from the top down it’s a little compartment that opens up and actually the igniter is in there too I was looking around trying to figure out where to put the battery they give you a AAA battery and
Then finally had to read the manual the old one you just screwed it in from the side this is It’s magnet you reach in there and the igniter has a magnet on the bottom so it just locks in there and you just unscrew that pop in the included
Battery then you’re ready to go so that was kind of different neat so that’s easy that just slides in just again put it back in there magnet close that up this is also you can install some of the accessories if you have the mantle it
Installs from there too it has a new and improved digital um temperature gauge and then the a new and improved ignition so the burner is the same but the the igniter is a little nicer let’s push this out there by my other Dome let’s compare them side by Side good thing about this it’s heavy but it’s on these nice wheels so you can easily roll it out if you have a nice patio so I’ve been getting a lot of questions since I told everybody that I which one is it since I was getting the
New S1 Dome they wanted to know the difference because when you see them the pictures they look almost identical so I put them side by side and I want to go through step by step and I made my list just so I don’t forget stuff make sure
That I talk about all the differences let’s start with the big one first and foremost the big thing is the cost difference this one cost just under $2,000 at $1,999 for just the oven this one is $1,499 so the main differences in price is going to to be that this one is multi
Fuel it’s labeled as dual fuel but it’s actually can be as Wood Fired uh natural gas liquid propane gas and coal so you can use all those different fuels for the subon so if you are dieh hard that you want to use your natural gas connection on your house this is really
Going to be your only option because this one comes in only gas but actually only in liquid propane so as of right now that doesn’t have an option to connect to a natural gas line at your house so as of right now it’s listed as a liquid propane only so we’ll see what
That goes some of the other things some the the Cosmetic things I think you can notice this one’s actually a tiny bit smaller it’s just a fraction less than an inch it’s about an inch shorter than this one so you can tell this one’s lower so this one’s about an inch
Shorter and the exterior is about not even a/ inch um in diameter smaller but the inside is actually the same so the internal cooking surface are exactly the same on both of these you in theory can do a 16in pizza in either one the opening from here to here is 16.1 in the
Trick is they say you can do a 16-in pizza yes you can but it’s extremely difficult to get a 16-inch peel because the only part with this Arch door opening the only part that’s 16 in wide is the exact bottom part so you have to slide the peel and scraping along the
Bottom of the stone if you lift it up just a fraction of an inch it’s going to hit the sides so I’ve only found that a 14-in wide po actually works best so you can technically do a 16-inch pizza it’s a little bit difficult but yes both pizz
Same thing 16.1 at the far bottom so not only is this one smaller it’s actually a little bit lighter too this one weighs 128 lbs total I feel like I’m cheating using this list another difference is the original Dome is a lot heavier it weighs 128 lb as opposed to this one it
Weighs 107 lb so it’s about a 21 lb difference so again if you are looking for something that’s a little easier to move around to roll around this one’s definitely going to be a lot easier to move it’s 21 lbs lighter so it is easier to move that’s another thing another
Thing too you can tell the Cosmetic this one has stainless steel wrapped around the middle sides here all the way around this band this one just has the ceramic coating so it’s all the bone white it’s all just basically the one solid color with the black and then the ceramic
Around the entire oven so I don’t know I thought I like the stainless steel better but I this one’s kind of growing I kind of like I think it looks more old school like an authentic kind of pizza oven with the ceramic around the whole thing and the stainless steel sometimes
Kind of a pain to kind of have to clean it so it’s a little bit extra effort but it looks good also let me show you the stainless steel I was talking about see how it goes around the sides this whole band that kind of goes around the entire
Oven this oven does not have that see how it just has the ceramic coating around which I actually it’s growing on me I think the more I see them the more I actually like this one this one breaks it up too it’s also very very good looking
Oven let’s see the backs too another thing I’m noticing too is the gas connection is a little bit different this has a quick kind of a quick snap on and off kind of connector and this one since it has the wood has the spot for the ashtray which this one does not have
This one just has a quick screw on gas connect basically connection other than that from The Backs they’re very similar another difference if you are really into making bread this one has the ability to add the accessory for the steam injector which this one does not have
The ability to have the steam injector all the other accessories I believe do fit on either one you can put the mantle the arch on either one the stand again this stand is a little little nicer looking you can tell this is the original bamboo
One it didn’t hold up as well but this is 3 years old so it’s still in pretty decent shape but it’s definitely weathered quite a bit another thing I really like about the S1 it comes with this and you ask what is this this is the actual little Kia tool the stones on
This oven are actually you can actually remove these Stones so you can adjust them with this you can lift them up and if something happens you break your stone you can actually take the stones out and get replacement stones and they don’t sell any additional like any other
Versions but I’ve seen online you can actually get um you can actually get custom stones made from Italy if you choose you can take these out and measure them and they can actually make you kind of Saputo stones for these two not sure how much I think they cost a
Few hundred bucks but if that’s something that interests you these stones are removable finally on the Dome you just stick this in the back hopefully my head’s not in the way lift it up there you can see see how easy look how thick this
Stone is a lot of people to ask like why I like gny this is one of the reasons this stone is twice as thick as all the other pizza companies out there this is a phenomenal Stone too and now that you can replace this if something happens
Down the road that’s great that’s a huge benefit for me too all right let’s put this back to straighten it back up perfect I also talked a little bit about how it’s a new temperature gauge I find it’s a little slightly easier to read it’s darker background so it’s dark
With a white you can see this one’s much easier to read again here’s the S1 version and here’s the original version this is still pretty good too easy to read and then this one has the probe attachments right there let’s turn that one off so the batteries don’t get
In and I don’t think this one has probe attachments I guess that’s something different too no probe attachments on this one but nowadays with the Wi-Fi ones the meter probes I actually prefer I never actually use these probes I have a set of Wireless ones that I like better this
One you can see has the wood here instead of the wood this this one has the attachment here a little bit of a challenge to open and there is the igniter the thing that I was talking about early just magnet sits right in there really nothing else in here this
Is where you can attach the mantle up here too so if you buy the mantle it goes there again it’s pretty Sleek looking you can also to see they change the guard around the stone see how it’s a different shape now it makes it easier
To get the stone so you don’t have a circle any more let’s show you how easy it is to light up with the new igniter look at that I kind of hold it in look at the Flames rolling around the top look at that that is very absolutely
Amazing look at the Flames somebody was asking me the other day about the height of the oven there’s plenty of room to bake anything in there it’s super high the flame goes way up over that’s pretty cool isn’t it thank you very much for watching I guess I have to tell you the
In first so long story short kind of the pros and cons of both of these if you want multi-fuel if you’re really dead set on using wood or charcoal things like that you’re going to want to get the dual fuel this is the original gny Dome the benefits of this one also is
That if you’re really into baking bread so if you want to make pizza roast Meats with wood and charcoal you want to bake bread with the steam injector that’s something you’re really into then the dual fuel is going to be the way to go again this is
$1,999 go to the link in my bio if you want any more information on either one of these ovens there’s a link with gny go to that link it’ll take you right to their website if you are P predominant predominantly also if you’re only going
To be using gas or making pizza once a while and you really like the look of the Dome save yourself $500 and get the S1 version it’s still an amazing oven you get that same look I actually almost think I like the looks of this better
With the ceramic kind of of wrap around the side of it too as opposed to the stainless steel this one is only going to be in liquid propane gas so if you’re a big bread maker or you’re going to want to use wood and stuff you’re not
Going to be able to do that with this oven but I think it’s a misconception that a lot of people say they really want to make pizza using wood fire when you are making Neapolitan style pizza with wood you have to use Kil dry wood that gets extremely hot almost 1,000°
And at 1,000° the pizza actually only cooks for around 60 to 90s seconds and it burns clean without any smoke actually so there’s really no quote unquote smoke flavor or wood flavor when the pizzas that you can really not tell the difference at all cooking at a high
Heat with gas versus a high heat with wood if you are smoking meat things like that yes you are definitely going to get wood flavoring and that’s something where you’re going to need the dual fuel for the price I think for under $1,500 this is probably one of the best home
Pizza ovens out there this one is an amazing oven it’s I really like the build quality of it it’s the ceramic is very easy to keep clean I really like the new igniter it lights up immediately so it alleviates some of the problems that a lot of people have had with the
Original one I believe they fixed it since then again this is 3 years old the stand’s amazing too I would definitely get the stand CU it gets it higher up off the ground but je I’m talking forever long story short they’re both great ovens again this is the S1
This is the original dual fuel gny Dome if you have any questions let me know thank you all for watching stay tuned hopefully the new gny arc XL oven is on its way I hopefully have it in the next week or so and then I’ll be able to do a
Side by side by side review of all those I went off track let’s do that again [Applause] [Applause]

Will you be getting the Arc? Love your content, I routinely make the BIGA recipe often!
Cant wait i ordered a s1 last week and also have ooni koda 16 . Great videos
Great video Matt . Imagine . It all started with the Roc box .
Am I right in thinking you have more barbecues in your household than you have people…? 😂
On your original dome, do you leave it out covered up when not in use or do you store it in an enclosed area?
great video !
i recently purcahsed the S1, i love it !
did gozney send you a arc to review ?
Matt, how often with the original did use wood to do your pies?
Sell me that S1! 😅 hello from San Antonio!
Can’t wait to see how you like the Arc+, and what you think it means for the S1. I always wanted to hold off for the Dome, but that Arc price is tough to ignore!
Thank you for this comparison of the two Gozney Dome's.
However, as I don't need wood, I'm wondering whether the "Gozney ARC XL", which will be released in March 2024 and will only cost about half the price of the S1, isn't more worthwhile instead of the "Dome S1"?!
Sounds like Gozney put a lot of research into the new flame for the Arc … do you think they will transfer this over and upgrade the Dome ???
Looking to buy one but wouldn’t spend the money if an upgrade is coming soon.
Any insights?
Thanks for the great videos – still rocking my Gen 1 Dome – excited to see what you think of the ARC
They hooked us with the RocBox and now we're addicted!!! They are so nice, I can't wait to add a dome.
Looking forward to your Arc review.
I've been using a natural gas pizza oven and probably going to get the Dome Arc…. How many times have you run out of propane when you wanted to make pizzas? Or do you constantly check your tank?
Seen the Gozney Arc ? Is that the same as S1 ?
Have you ever used an Alfa oven? I was thinking about getting the Alfa Moderno 3 (rebranded name from the Alfa Brio).
Can you do a Gozney Arc vs Kiln-R review?
So can you not replace the stones on the dome?
Thank you for a great review and comparison on both models, but I still istick to my awesome Rockbox oven all the way. Cheers from California.
I'm interested in your suggestion for a pizza oven, catering up to 50-60 pizzas max. The new Gozney Arc has a large opening, and I'm afraid it might lose a lot of heat… Would you recommend two Gozney Roccbox ovens or Pizza Party Emozione or Pizza Party Bollore, or something else?
I'd like the S1 and its stand, combined with the Arc XL opening and lateral flame. 😢
Hopefully they come out with a Natural Gas so we can just install a gas line instead of running to the store for gas. Excellent video.
