Mixing Eastern With Western In This Yummy Salmon Rice!

I came across a 4-in-1 American spices seasoning bottle from Hexa while I was grocery shopping. After some deliberation, I decided to purchase a bottle as it looks very compact and easy to use. In this recipe, I used 3 out of 4 of the spices for the salmon and the taste is really good!

Here is a quick guide on how I made this dish

Ingredients

Part 1
Japanese Rice, 1 Cup
Sesame Oil
Furikake
Corn kernels
Cheese (I used Provolone)

Part 2
Salmon Steak, 1 medium size
BBQ Seasoning
Lemon Pepper
Garlic Salt
Mayonnaise

Topping (optional)

Italian Herbs

1) After washing Japanese Rice and soaking it in water for 30 minutes, cook the rice. 1 cup of rice to 1 – 1.2 cups of water. After the rice is cooked, keep it warm in the rice cooker or pot for at least 10 minutes without opening the lid.

2) Remove the rice and add the ingredients as stated in Part 1 of the ingredient list (except for the cheese). Mix well.

3) Remove skin from salmon steak and chop into small cubes or bite sizes. Season with the spices as indicated in Part 2.

4) In a baking dish, spread half the amount of rice at the bottom. Add enough cheese of your choice to cover the rice. Layer the rest of the rice on top. Add the salmon cubes and top with more cheese.

5) Bake in the oven at 160°C for 10 minutes or till the salmon is lightly brown on the surface. The amount I made is enough for 2 pax as a main dish.
