French Farmers Protest: Fires, Roadblocks, Subsidy Clash



Outraged French farmers caused a stir last Saturday by blocking roads and a busy motorway to Spain.

The protest, which unfolded nationwide, highlights their frustration with low earnings for their produce and excessive bureaucracy.

Protesters attacked Spanish trucks at the border, and Spain’s National Federation of Transport Associations condemned the action as “totally unacceptable.”

    Yes, of course, blame Spain and destroy the jobs of innocent people who are only passing through France, instead of entering congress at once and pointing the finger at French politicians and Macron. How disappointed I am with you in that regard, I hope it doesn't happen again… I understand your statements but things like that should not be done…

    In Frankreich ist das Volk auch nicht so gespalten worden über all die Jahre wie in Deutschland die Menschen und der Staat hier versucht alles, damit das auch so bleibt und die Deutschen sich erst gar nicht mehr vereinen können, wir wären einfach zu stark wenn wir vereint wären

    This is NOT democracy….this is ANARCHY……….have the farmers GIVEN BACK their EU subsidies ?? of course not , and to destroy a Spanish truck is utterly disgusting……what of the owner of the truck……was it HIS fault that French supermarkets buy cheaper Spannish produce ???

    I wish it were like this in Turkey too. Fertile lands but no value to farmers. Therefore, there is no production. It is constantly imported. France's tradition since 1789. I wish the Turks had half the intelligence of a Frenchman.
