I’m finishing the root cellar one section at at time – this week I install a floor in the breezeway section, move the freezer back into place and set up a metal rack to store mason jars full of preserved and dried food. On the new wood cookstove, I make moose and lasagna sandwiches with fresh homemade sourdough bread.

Nice guitar music (about 12 min) very similar to what I play. I am amazed at the projects and progress too. I find (with less Sun light hours) that I tend to stall projects mixing priority concerns with internal stress to move forward. It's the mind stopping me, not the ability. Having so much to do in my tiny near off grid … Also, time watching tubes really takes time, sometimes to where I over cook eggs… that irks me. Good health otherwise. Do good in your youth … and glad you have good personal goals and motivation that helps drive you.

Hi Shawn, gutted about the hard drive. If you’ve not sent it already, it’s worth having a chat with Louis Rossmann. His company does hard drive recover for a fraction of companies like drive savers. He’s got a YouTube channel, so don’t take my word for it, but maybe check him out. Based in Texas, so a way from you; but still could work out better financially.

I have been told and I have seen on Youtube that those drives have internal repair software, if you leave them powered up with no access for 24 hours. Just some input, not necessary fact. Sorry for the lost of video. 🙁

i bought 2 of the same 5TB portable hard drive that cost me like $150 each and copy all my info twice to both drives to have a copy just in case. they are powered by USB only so no power cables needed with a small footprint. I've had them for 8 yrs without issue.
Is this a cooking and eating show ?

My life and my business is on hard drives. Backed up many times BUT it only takes one thing to mess all that up. I use a duplicating program to try and stay backed up. Good luck with the recovery I do basic recoveries for people from camera cards but from hard drives it is harder. HOPEFULLY just a power supply issue inside and the drive itself is fine.
Caly now must be about 12 years old?…
she was a puppy when I got mine too…and I always adored her great life in nature.
Now she also is an aged lady…and I can say: what a faithful dog!

It’s too dark in the cabin, pls consider painting the kitchen walls to get some light in and refracted within the cabin. It will help lift the heavy feel when walking into the cabinet.

I sent a hard drive to a data recovery team and I thought for sure they wouldn't be able to retrieve it but they did! Photos of my dad that were irreplaceable b/c he has since passed. I have multiple copies now. It was expensive but worth every penny!
