FAQ:
Who is this lady?
Gina Petitti was born in 1935 in Faeto, Italy. It is in the province of Foggia in the Puglia region of southeast Italy. Her family ran a farm in Italy and she met her husband, Vito, in the same town. In 1970 Gina, Vito, and her 4 children immigrated to America. Gina’s husband passed away in 2012, but she is surrounded by a large family, which includes 9 grandchildren, and lives 5 minutes away from her eldest daughter in New Jersey. Gina enjoys making food for her family in the same old fashion ways as she was taught by her mother and grandmother in Italy, and also new things she has subsequently learned from family and friends in America. She also enjoys gardening, and being an active member of her local Church.
Where does Gina get her recipes?
Most of these recipes are from what she learned growing up in Italy, but some of them have evolved over time. She has also learned new recipes from friends and family in America. She is always eager to try new things.
Why is no one helping her in the video?
Grandma Gina doesn’t want help! Usually, it’s because we will slow her down or not do it “her way.” For the videos we only show her, but when the camera cuts we jump in and help form the cookies or prep for the next step.
Why don’t we buy her a new…?
Grandma Gina has a closet and garage full of new gadgets, spoons, forks, pots, etc… but she doesn’t like them because she is used to doing it with her old tools. She has fun getting her hands dirty!
Who is behind the camera and behind the scenes?
Grandma Gina’s retired son-in-law, Nick, does the filming, editing, production, and channel management. Her daughter, Maria, helps with food preparation, kitchen setup and fan support. Also, Grandma Gina usually has one or two grand-kids in the kitchen to help.

Brilliant Gina. ❤ *Just to say I have never seen you use white pepper. Any reason? Thomas. With regards from England. 🏴❤😊
Can she stop adding an A after each word?
Good seeing yourself Gina.
I was worried that she would burn her thumbs. Get her a pair of Ove-Gloves.
I love roasted peppers on a sandwich with mozzarella and Italian bread.
.
God Bless her 🙏🏻
She loves to cook , sing, and a happy soul . Thank you Gina for your uplifting of my heart ❤️
We always added garlic and let them marinate in the refrigerator for the next day. It’s a nice thing to make ahead. The garlic makes them even better. Grazie, Nonna Gina! Tanti baci a te! ❤🥰😘

Love you too, Gina!
Thank you so much, Gina, I love you
I'm worried about those oven mitts…looks like they should be reversed so the longer side covers the palm? Take care with the oven mitts. Love you Mama Gina! Thank you for your videos!
Looks good. Another way in which I do it . I put my whole peppers directly on fire on my gas stove. Keep on turning till nice and charred. After peeling I cut into strips with chopped garlic and olive oil and serve it with sharp provolone cheese . YOMMO Love mama gina❤
I love this woman !
Thank you for being my TV grandma in the kitchen ❤❤
We’ve missed you! Are you at your daughters house? The refrigerator & oven look different.
I Love You Too! Mi piace tantissimo tutto che hai fatto con pepper! Vado a fare lo stesso anche io a casa mia chi in Portugalo! Gracie mille! Um Baccio piú grande!!!

Did the same thing but with thin slices of slightly rosted garlic and a little vinegard – delicious.

OM Gosh! THANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS RECIPE!!
Absolute pleasure watching your videos!!
Gina, thank you. You remind me so much of my Nona, i love watching you.
My favorite Youtube grandma. This woman is amazing and love watching her videos.
They smell good & taste even better😋
I LOVE YOU TOO MAMMA GINA!!❤❤❤
PS Is this your daughters kitchen?
Sweet peppers actually have genders! The male peppers have four lobes at the bottom and female peppers have three lobes. This is probably of interest only to another pepper, while they're growing from the flower, but all interesting information is not promised to be useful. Cheers!
My life is brighter watching your videos Miss Gina!
Nonna I am only 28, but I love cooking the old way! You’re so lovely. Thank you for taking the time to show us!!!
4:40 into the video Gina you are holding the oven mitts backward. The larger pad is thicker than the smaller one. The larger one will protect your hands and wrist. Give it a try! Love watching you and cooking your dishes. You cook just like my grandmother (Mom Side). She was from a small town near Bari. My Dad is from a small town in the Naples.
Yum! I love these.
Thank you, Gina!!!
