This iconic Neapolitan dish made with tender octopus is a simple stew to make but with the
most remarkable flavours. Prepared using peeled tomatoes, garlic, olives, capers and fresh
parsley it is truly a symbol of the Mediterranean and an ode to fishermen who would cook their
freshly caught octopus dockside at the end of their day.

  1. I'm making this tonight with a bottle of Black stallion on the side, just picked up some good pulpo! Cheers from Stockholm, Sweden.

  2. YOIU KNOW WE LOVE YOU YOU KNOW THAT 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷 my lovely Vincenzo

  3. This looks so good. I love seafood, especially squid and prawns, however I never see octopus for sale here in England

  4. What I wouldn’t give to dunk bread in that sauce! Here in America, we call it gravy! ❤️❤️

  5. Thank you, Vincenzo, congrats again for your newborn. In Greece we have a similar recipe, the only difference is that we add a little red wine to the sauce along with a bay leave and a cinnamon stick.

  6. Seriously Vincenzo. Please get yourself a new garlic chrusher! That plastic crusher sound hurts my ears. Please get a metal crusher because it looks way nicer and doesn't sound that horrible. I've commented this before and will keep on commenting until you get one. This is important 😅

  7. Yes indeed! Octopus is absolutely delicious – way better than squid. What other sauces would be appropriate here? I'm no tomato lover, for sure. Olives and capers are super yummy.

  8. Vince'… quelle olive non si possono vedere… per il resto, complimenti per la passione e l'ispirazione…👍

  9. Congratulations sir on your
    Little bambino.

Salutations from Belfast Northern Ireland 🇬🇧

  10. Thank you Vincenzo 👍🏻 to many more success and delicious recipes 😊

  11. Octopus is delicious, but I hope the current farming attempts for them fail. They are too smart to be kept in extremelt tight condition, especially since they are usually solitary creatures.

  12. FOR ALL OCTOPUS LOVERS out there: leave octopus lives in the sea. Refuse to eat it. As proved, it is an intelligent member of the sea. Leave them in the Nature, please. Love Luciana as wife, mother, sister, girlfriend . Please Vincenzo, Go for other dishes

  13. Watching from London, this dish looks amazing. I love octopus but have never cooked one because was not sure how to approach it 🙂 This recipe looks simple and easy to follow, can't wait to try it.

  14. delicious! @Vincenzo would love to see the classic "pasta al forno"! we do it with pipe rigate, muti, ham, creme fraiche and some emental on top!

  15. I want this so badly, right now! Sadly all I have is a tin of "Greek style" octopus, and no San Marzano tomatoes. So I guess I have to go shopping to see what, if any, of the ingredients I can find in Edinburgh!

  16. Ive eaten calamari but never octopus, in fact i recently ordered fried calamari for my table, my mother and daughter left me one small piece , that octopus looked delicious , rome new york

  17. Cooking Octopus and Squid properly is very hard. It's easy to make rubber.

The way your knife went through that piece of Octopus made me smile. Bravo.

    Edit: And yes, Oregon.

  18. Vincenzo, my friend, I've been watching you for several years. This might be the most mouth-watering dish I've seen you make yet. God bless your good work, bringing the joy and cuisine of Italy to people around the world. Lane from Canada.

  19. I love it! We make an octopus recipe at my Turkish restaurant that is similar. Thank you for keeping your ingredients simple and of great quality, Vincenzo. 👏

  20. My mouth was watering the entire video. I can’t wait to try this dish. 🙏

  21. I'm from Macon Georgia, and I would love it if the palate down here was more diverse. I personally love octopus, but the only way I could find it down here is if I order it on sushi

  22. I love octopus but have always been hesitant to make it at home for fear of it being tough. This recipe seems fool proof and very simple. I will be trying this very soon. Thanks for sharing 👍
    I'm watching you from Florida
