Grilled American Classics… ITALIAN STYLE!

#4thofjuly #independenceday #cookout

With the 4th of July coming up, it’s grilling season back home in America! But… we’re in Italy. To celebrate America’s birthday, Eva and I are collaborating to invent some new Italian-style dishes inspired by classic American grilled recipes.

Will we come up with an instant classic or just destroy some already perfect dishes? You be the judge!

  1. Happy 4th of July to our American friends, and happy grilling season to all! Let us know what you'll be cooking up outside this summer (or inside on an out-of-control induction burner 😅)

  2. A hamburger cooked in a pan w/ a egg on top …how groundbreaking you are. do you have the recipe for egg n toast?

  3. From the country of poutin and smoares, I will be trying the closest I can get to your ideas. We enjoy the channel. Your dynamic is on point.

  4. Finally, Eva shows a shred of respect for some United States food. I'm tired of hearing her shit all over all the foods our hard working parents raised us with over here, if all the world cooked Italian pasta dishes the world would be a boring place.
I wasn't always patriotic growing up but seeing her attitude towards our traditions is making me appreciate my country and the traditions I was raised with more than ever. I would never get on YouTube and shit talk another culture's foods just because they are different than my own, or isn't as delicious as my own foods in my opinion. It's rude, but I get it, you want views.
That being said I have learned a lot about how to cook pasta dishes correctly and I thank you. But I've lost a whole lot of enthusiasm for this channel due to her horrible attitude towards our (my country's) food.

  5. It is so cute how Eva loves s’mores so much! They are too sweet and messy for me. 😂❤❤Can’t wait to see the new building in Dasa this fall. 😊

  6. You simply haven't become properly Italianified, Harper, until you keep well away from ketchup regardless of the circumstance and you recognise that home made, especially by Eva, will always be better than packaged buns.

  7. I feel like y’all need to go to Chicago. You’ve never had a meatball and sausage sandwich? A sausage and peppers? Use an Italian sausage on that bad boy 😢🫠🤤 home.
The polish and the Italians got together and made food babies there 😂

  8. As far as cooking a hotdog in a pan, I can help you out. My wife and I live in an apartment, and aren't allowed to grill. Instead, I cook hotdogs in a cast-iron skillet. Use a little bit of oil, either grapeseed or olive, or some butter. We use beef hotdogs, so the butter seems to work best. I typically cook them until I get a little bit of a crust going. Make sure to turn them periodically, and I can fit five or six in a ten inch skillet, though that depends on whether I'm using bun length dogs. Once you've got a good sear on all sides, it's good to go.

  9. As it rains in Maine on the 4th of July, it was such a treat to watch the two of you " cookout" in honor of Independance Day. Definitely will try that burger! Know your day is sunny 🌻

  10. You can make marshmallow at home, but you would have needed an invert sugar (corn syrup). That would have been epic!

And that "Back at the Locanda" beauty shot is going to get a lot of use. 🙂 Happy Holiday, Harper and Eva!

  11. Happy Independence Day to you and the fine visitors to the site. If no grill, you can always boil the hot dogs as my late parents each did. Before microwave ovens. Also I would put the cheese on the meat right away then the French fries and more sauce and maybe more minced or shredded cheese.

  12. The hot dog is like brazilian hot dog! Pork sausage, tomato sauce (not ketchup) and fries… but we use really thin and crispy chips, similar with shoestring fries… sometimes we put diced bacon or cheese on it… so I felt like wow, brazilian classic made in a gourmet way!

  13. Hotdogs: FIRST cut small + on the ends of the hot dogs and small slits on the sides of the hotdogs, THEN parboil the hot dogs in boiling water till they split; then grill till they brown.

  14. Much too long and wildly repetitive. You are badly in need an editor. Small cuts here and there would greatly improve the flow. Your message gets lost in an awful lot of clutter. You’re falling in love with the sound of your own voices. Your videos used to be smart and tight. The content can sustain 12- to 15-minutes, not a ridiculous 28 with terrible music.

  15. When I do the humburger I cut a small pieces onions carots e chilli red(Peperoni rossi), with the mealt… for the chease put scamorza affumicata, with the potato fries, I add a small pieces of onion fries.

  16. Brava Eva, the buns look perfect! I laughed so hard when you said "I made this on purpose" and then did the action of your nose growing! 🤣🤣🤣

  17. Oh my Eva has given me so many great ideas I'm growing my own tomatoes and am so excited to try home made sauce I might even try baking bread more often. Your food looks delicious. Also love your eggplant sandwich that was a good idea and something my hubbies would really like. 🙂

  18. Stick to your brand. This is ridiculous, dreary, and seemingly endless. There’s no through-line, just a lot of silly jumping around simply to stick to an absurd July 4th theme. If I wanted to watch American food being prepared, I’d watch someone else. Get back to basics: Italian cooking.

  19. This was a lot of fun. Of course you two are always a lot of fun. My kids want to go to the store NOW and get the ingredients. Me too. BTW what kind of knife are you using? I love it, but it's not on you amazon list. Dimmelo, ti prego? Grazia! Much love and respect from your friends in Florida 🌴

  20. In New Jersey we have what’s called “Italian-style hot dogs.” It’s a boiled hot dog with fried potatoes, peppers & onions on “pizza bread” which is a quarter of a flat, round loaf that’s a little softer than regular Italian bread. Very yummy.

  21. That carbonara burger looks amazing!!! 🤤🤤🤤 Good job guys!! Also I would have done s'mores with nutella, those pistacchio cream in the supermarkets are sh*t, full of sugar and the percentage of pistacchio is ridiculous. In Sicily we have some companies which does them properly but they are really expensive and usually you can't find them in a supermarket
