  1. Thank you to ALL OF YOU for supporting us and helping us in our mission! We're so lucky to have such an amazing community of Pasta Grammarians. And thank you to our sponsor, Raycon, for helping us out as well: go to https://buyraycon.com/pastagrammar for 15% off your order, plus get free domestic or flat fee international shipping!

  2. As a northern Italian (with a quarter Neapolitan "terrone" origin I'm just as proud of as the Austro-Hungarian quarter and the remaining Lombard "polentone" half) it's always heartwarming to get a glimpse of southern Italy. People you cannot help but adore, culture and traditions you can only fall in love with and the best damn food you can find anywhere in the world, even compared to the rest of Italy, which is saying something.
The big divide between north and south becomes even more depressing when you get in touch with the other half, because you realize that there isn't a "good" reason why it should even exist, but there are sadly many "real" reasons why it still does. Best of luck with the restaurant project, it's a wonderful idea I hope it thrives and I'm sure your YT channel can give you guys a robust hand

  3. Why would you want to go back to Arizona?
I left San Francisco 50 years ago and would never go back. Complimenti per l'impredimento, lupo

  4. As a foodie and cooking many international cuisines, I'm curious about the food you'll be cooking. Judging by what I've seen in your channel, the cooking is not up to scratch to be brutally honest.
The cooking needs a lot of work. Unless you employ a fully qualified and experienced Italian chef.
Good quality food, locally sourced local independent grocers, meat, poultry producers, cheesemakers meat, fish and poultry, (helping the local economy and community), great atmosphere and quality service equals success and more @sses in the chairs every day. Simple as that. The lady would be great at the front of the house as the main host to greet customers and/or take orders. Her personality is great for welcoming the customers.

  5. Wow, amazing news! Congratulations to you and Eva, and to the town of Dasà. Your restaurant is more a community house with restaurant/B&B opportunities. I wish you guys all the best with your restaurant/community house!

  6. congrats, makes sense to have it as a destination for anyone wanting to experience italian food at it's best with local cooks, etc that know what they are doing.

  7. Che bella iniziativa, Eva e Harper! Bravissimi. Questo ristorante è sicuramente meglio dei ristoranti "stellati" costosi e modaioli. Dalla Locanda di sicuro non esci con la fame.

  8. This is awesone and inspiring. Well done! Now, I have a good number of Italian friends in Montreal, so I have a question: How do you get a bunch of Nona's to work together in a kitchen and agree on how to make anything??? 😉

  9. at least six months since I last saw your mug, and you've changed. likeable you already were. ah dunno what happened but you've changed – in a good way.
I was always in love with the pair of you, especially your impish wife!
absolutely delighted at how this locanda way of working is involving sooo many in the community. fingers crossed, many small villages across la penisola will follow in this community footsteps. this is Italy at its best. tanti auguri, ragazzi!!!

  10. Great job guys, it sounds like you are bringing life to Dasà, everybody looks so happy and now they have a place to go in the evening to be happy together, what a rare gift that is to a small community, Brava, I wish I could afford to go there to visit, I just can’t right now, but hopefully someday. Great video, and great job. 🇮🇹😎🇮🇹

  11. Love it when I see, through the miracle of technology, the young people like yourselves creating change in the world.
You all renew hope in my old hippie heart!

  12. This is wonderful. 🎉 It's so important to have a community gathering place. So nice you can give back to the community and bring people there!! Very interested in the tours.

  13. Many Italians would never want to go to Calabria due to its notorious reputation. A friend of mine from Bologna gave me a weird look when I mentioned the place, like Calabria is a foreign country on another continent

  14. Hi guys!! What a wonderful project that is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is my favorite video by you guys. Dasa looks beautiful and the people are so happy Wow. Watching this made my day better thanks for sharing. I wish you both and all of Dasa all the best and maybe one day I will come and see and experience for myself. This is a hidden gem. I won't forget Dasa for sure.
    Take care
    Jersey Lou

  15. Congratulations on your contribution to Eva's home community. I'm so happy for everyone that will enjoy time and company in Calabria. You are a lovely couple making a difference in so many lives. ❤

  16. I was lucky to visit northern Italy ( area around Milan and Lake Como) I fell in love with Italy and will for sure put Dasa on my bucket list. Caio

  17. This is the best story I have every seen on YouTube. My heart is melting with joy and happiness!

  18. I'm so happy for you guys! OMG if you can restore the mill that would be so awesome!!! 🤔 Maybe hard to do, but the public water system would be cool too. (Remember it from one of your videos) Your story about the restaurant that hadn't been one in so long reminded me of when we moved. Our home town has really grown, but when we first came it was really small. Everyone used a barn with a mural on it as a landmark. Only problem was that the barn had fallen years before and it was now a field. No one thought to mention that detail. 😆

  19. This is SO wonderful!!! What a boon to the community! And very excited to hear about the mill project. Would love to support! Do you have a Patreon account???

  20. Congratulations! I wish you a lot of success. Dasà must be a marvelous place. I hope I will visit Calabria and Dasà some day.. Of course, if that happens, I will visit "La Locanda".

  21. Eva Harper and my fellow grammarians. This spontaneous, cooperative, happy kind of 'destino' is the kind of thing that I just love to see and which often happens to me. When I was first contemplating retirement at the old age of 33, I was planning where to move etc but ultimately it all just fell into my lap and I hurried off to live in Mexico. I've been here happily for 37 years now and been very happy.
I love how this Dasa Community effort is good for all concerned and you have a long unplanned 'vacation' there. I'm happy for you all, enjoy. Jim Oaxaca Mexico

  22. American goes to Italian town, loves it because there are no tourists, then starts a tourist business there. Soon there will be nothing to love.

  23. Ma mo' che state in Calabria tutta l'estate, perche' non porti Harper a provare le delizie del Cilento? Prima tappa, La mozzarella di Paestum. Ad Agosto ci stanno ottomila sagre….

  24. You guys need to hurry up and have some children. Look at how old all the Italians are. It's sad.
