How did you mom learn to paint?
You can also mix the stains to make your own color so you don't have to do so many layers I do this all the time on staircases and handrails because the homeowners usually want me to match the floor. So you can make your own stain color by mixing them instead of layering. Hope this helps

We are considering getting a frame tv to mount on our brick fireplace, but we are worried about damaging the TV over time if we use the gas fireplace. MaCenna, I’m wondering if you can share your experience or concerns about using your gas fireplace with the frame tv mounted??

Tell your mother that Dollar Tree sells mini binder clips in a copper finish. They would elevate her paint tube project, rather than using black binder clips from the office supply store.

Never been on a plane. Only a couple of different states than where I live.
You could try looking in the small wood isle, scrapbook kraft isle.
I painted my TV frame before they started making frame tv's. My TV is the older style that really kinda looks like a frame. I painted it a base color of copper then used small sponges like sea sponges in different colors of copper. It turned out really cool. But the frame is much larger that came on that TV.
You could also paint the base black, then use rub & buff for the gold & have a more antique looking frame. Or gold wax.
You could also use dark wax on yiur fireplace & buff it off to get the antique look that you where looking for. Also there is also glazing as a antiquing method. You put the glaze on & whip it off. Sounds like what you where saying your mom used to use.

It surprises me that no comments seem to lift the toxic way food is talked about at the end of this video. Not only is it sad to hear someone “regretting” to not even finish a full meal of takeout but it’s incredibly frustrating that you can’t even get to enjoy a YouTube video without hearing stuff like this. Idea for paint clip board: install it inside a cabinet so it hangs on the inside of the door (kinda like the hanging teaspoons on the inside of your cabinet.)

I am not sure if this is only in my mother country, but I was taught that you should never put an even number (like 2 or 4) of flowers in a vase at your home. It’s always 1, 3, 5, 7 or etc.
The even number of flowers are for mourning and for putting flowers on a grave of a deceased person. Is this also the way people display flowers in your countries?

Hell MaCenna!! It’s me who left the advice about the staining! Just to clarify, I meant that you should go and buy something significantly darker than you think with gold in it, then go back in with your current stains after to get the right tone. It fills the wood with the depth and the gold that it needs. I think you thought I meant just using what you already have. Buying something much darker will help! (Perhaps like special walnut or maybe English chestnut?)
