Hitler fought the free world to a standstill and nearly won, Saddam Hussein had one of the largest armies in the world, Ghaddafi in Libya was untouchable, so he thought, how about Mugabe in Zimbabwe, the Apartheid leadership of South Africa and so on. All those regimes are now in the dustbin of history having lost to the free world.
When you tell Museveni and his regime that their fate is sealed, they have a reason to disbelieve what you say. They think well, look at Obote and Amin, the two dictators of Uganda before him. They got away with the atrocities they had committed by fleeing from Uganda and were never punished in 1971 and 1979 respectively. Why do you think we are now grappling with yet a third dictatorship for the last 37 years and counting? Had we done what we should have done, by investigation them, charging them and finding them guilty of their crimes, perhaps they would still be at the Luzira maximum prison serving their life sentences.
Therefore, it is incumbent upon us to show the whole country that we are governed by law and that no one is above it. This time we must not make the same mistake we made back then. Museveni and his regime will soon be history, but that should not be the end of their story. The COSASE should step in and begin investigating them, soon after they have been arrested and detained, to prevent them from fleeing from the country. We want justice to be done. Not only that, but we would be saving our posterity from the scourge of dictatorship under which we have suffered in Uganda since 1966. Never again should we allow an opportunist to take over the reins of the central government pretending to be the leader. I hope that you and your colleagues in the National Unity Platform (NUP) party have learnt a lesson from this experience you will never forget. When your turn comes to lead, as it surely will, what will you do? That is the question.
