My Italian Wife Challenged Me to Cook Her Favorite Food… WITHOUT RECIPES

Have I learned anything after several years of “studying” Italian food with Eva? In today’s video, she challenged me to cook three classic Italian dishes: fettuccine all’Alfredo, pollo alla cacciatora, and tiramisù. The only catch? I’m not allowed to use ANY recipes.

If you enjoy this video, please give it a thumbs-up and subscribe to the channel!

  1. I'm curious how many of you cook without following recipes? I've always been so dependent on them on the rare occasions when I cook… this really pushed me out of my comfort zone!

  2. Sheer delight! I was getting out my jeweler's saw to make you a new stainless fitting for the pasta machine! Why do i know exactly what you broke in the sucker?! 😅

  3. I love you both so much the way communicate with each other and with your chat viewers, the recipes and good knowledge that you share. You guys are absolutely amazing❤ however Harper always put me back on my heel every time I see him wearing a hat in the house. Not in the intro but throughout the entire video. Is that okay Italian etiquette? ❤

  4. I recently found out your channel while looking for vegetable recipes and immediately fell in love with the dishes and subscribed!

  6. Idea for next travel to/from Italy
We seen you compare Italy and USA McDonald's but maybe some other ones?
Does USA have any chain service station you could compare to Italy autogrill store/restaurant?

  7. Harper you have inspired me to make a Tiramisu like dessert. I can not have coffee. I am allergic. I am also lactose intolerant however I
Will use that ingredient. I will substitute Apple cider instead. I will use maple syrup or honey instead. Perhaps mix in some almond whip cream.

  8. How about you make this a series and at some point Harper has to cook something Italian for Eva's parents? Now THAT would make for some quality content!

  9. Maybe Harper should get a French press. You pour nearly boiling water on top of grounds, wait 4 minutes and press down. IKEA makes a really good French press.

  10. From what I gather, most Italians cook with their instincts and use their senses rather than using a recipe. I learned how to cook by watching my Sicilian grandmother and mother. They never used recipes, or measurements, and I followed suit. They cooked by "feel" or "by eye." Whenever I had questions, they would say, like this and just show me rather than explain it. They basically just did it and I watched and gauged with my eyes. Or they would say, not too little or not to much. You just see. I don't know maybe Italians just naturally have photographic memories and we just catch on that way? lol I will, however, follow baking recipes or some meals where I am not familiar with from other cuisines. I usually only use the recipe once or twice to "get the feel of it." It's great because it trained me to be very visual, and I have so many memories of watching and cooking with Grandma and Mom.

  11. Great job, Harper! Could you guys make stuffed Sicilian flatbread, I think it’s called scacce but there are different spellings. I saw one on Food Wishes and it looked amazing, but I’d love to see Eva’s take on it before I give it a try. Love to you both ❤️!
