Uhm…actually Isonzo River is in Italy, specifically in Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region.
It also passes through Slovenia, but I think the affected area in the map is the area that was then the border between Friuli (Italy) and the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

Mercie Benet M1909 machine gun is the French mg described in the beginning of the battle. I probably butchered the spelling but if you Google it you'll see the rifle up close. Very cool. Was also featured in Battlefield 1.
