This Singapore Restaurant Sells No Singaporean Food. Watch what they sell instead.

I went to two “Singaporean” Restaurants in Italy. It disappointed me. Get Surfshark VPN at https://Surfshark.deals/ojisan and enter promo code OJISAN for 85% off and 3 extra months free!

Don’t get me wrong, the food was generally nice at both locations – it’s just that… watch the video to find out. It’s quite shocking.

  1. Looks to me china chinese food than Spore food with a little SE Asia twist. Definitely not Sporean food

  2. When you travel for a while, you'll sometimes crave for your local cuisines, so you went out searching if there's anyone selling them. Happy that Ghib is searching them for us and also showed that there's still room for Singapore foods in these countries.

  3. I once went to a "hong kong" restaurant in austria that served pretty legit SHANDONG food 🙂

  4. Is it just me or does that Merlion have a dragon face instead of a lion??

  5. The infamous 'Singapore Noodles' but Italian style! Available everywhere else except in Singapore!!!!

  6. Lesson from this video: Do not trust any restaurant named Singapore in Europe to serve true Singaporean food. 😂

  7. Going to italy looking for sporean food is like going to india looking for indonesian food. WHY???? 🙄

  8. Wow, wonder how much the dishes in the first restaurant cost. Like practically all noodles or rice, hardly any ingredients. All Anglo countries including Australian also have Singapore fried noodles.. with curry powder. In Singapore the authentic one is called Xin chow (which sounds like Singapore in Chinese) noodles but there is no curry powder

  9. Wow! I loved the Dolomites scenery. Thanks! So serene and beautiful. And you get to eat at the end of the hike. So great.

  10. I moved from Singapore to Netherlands 23years ago. It is very common to see Singapore noodle with curry spices on the menu in Europe but is not actually Singapore dish. Only in England Chinatown u can find good and tasty Singapore n Malaysia foods. Ghib San go to Australia ( Melbourne n Sydney) you can find many delicious Singapore and Malaysia foods.
Most of the Chinese restaurants in Europe are run by ppl from China.

  11. Haha people go overseas to eat and travel but our dear Ghib-san went overseas to find Singapore food which we are really appreciative of! Always have that curious thought how our dishes could be localised in other countries.

I agree with your wife that Duck Tacos won't be approved here in Singapore haha. The duck dishes found in Singapore are mostly broth and soupy like the Teochew braised duck or those dangui charcoal roast duck. They are heavier in terms of taste 😉 really glad to see you and hope you and your wife have a super enjoyable and safe trip!!!

  12. Authentic cuisine 😂 when I was studying in Hobart, we have Singapore noodles…it’s just cheap egg noodles stir fry 😅

  13. どれもおいしそう~。シェフはどこの国の人なのか、想像力豊かですね。値段は日本より安い!

  14. Actually we use frozen peas, carrots and corn for home-fried rice. We also use luncheon meat instead of char siew. Fast and easy. We don't make char siew at home and if we buy, it won't last long enough to go into fried rice. Sweet and sour pork was invented in Singapore/Malaysia by one of the 5 famous chefs in the 1950s. I guess you can say that is the only authentic dish that's from Nanyang.

  15. Can we get someone to sue them on using our Singapore name and not selling anything link to Singapore?

  16. That's true when I say I'm S'porean, they say " but you are not chinese! Kan nee nah !!they Think S'pore is in China!! But it not their fault, its how you people are! Its in your DNA!

  17. Not very expensive for a restaurant that serves other countries food though. Some countries srsly cut throat

  18. The duck is 香酥鸭, crispy duck that you find in some local seafood restaurants like Long Beach, Roland's Restaurant etc.

  19. Here’s the misinformation fact, I have China netizens and I taught China students before…in their China CCP textbooks, Singapore is part of China …. And the world is being brainwashed that Singapore is part of China….that’s why in CNN, they refer Singapore as a city state…
I have to educate my China students that Singapore has declared independence and it’s a country by itself and dun belongs to China….
And if your wife had noticed the 1st restaurant’s name is Xing Zhou….the Xing is written as star, unlike Singapore written in Chinese is written as ‘new add slopes” (direct translation) 😂and there’s a place in china calls Xing Zhou…
As for the Merlion is a Singapore trademark, so if they used it, they can be sued😂
Malaysia get sued once for using CNA trademark….so their Merlion needs to go on diet to avoid being sued 😂
