Polenta can be confusing, at least to me! Just figuring out what to buy can be a minefield of potential pitfalls. Will instant polenta work? Is cornmeal the same thing as polenta? Fine or coarse? What about grits? Don’t even get me started on the best way to cook it…

  2. I don't know why the algorithm chose your channel to show on my feed but how can I not subscribe? My name is Eva too! I am not Italian (Irish/Mexican/American) but I love polenta! It's similar to masa in tamales which I looooove!! Now off to binge this channels videos!

  3. I know the real old fashioned way takes more time but when it comes to taste and texture, the extra time is well worth it when it comes to polenta and grits both. Another great one, you two. I look forward to your posts more than anything else in you tube!

  5. I use my Thermomix (Bimby), so I just turn it on and leave it, but I know they don't sell them in the USA. I assume you can get the Kenwood Cooking Chef? That's great too.. And of course you can also get an electric 'paiolo' (pot) here in Italy: same thing, it stirs itself. Can you get them in the States?🙂

    I usually use polenta bramata with some kind of rich, heavy sauce on it, but I really like polenta taragna,

  6. Absolutely… bramata! I live 1 year in Mantova, Stracotto d'asino and fried or grilled polenta… fantastic dish!

  7. E questo lo scrivo in Italiano 🙂, da bambino era usanza mettere la polenta sulla "spianatora" (una grande tavola di legno) dove, al centro, c'erano salcicce e spuntature. Per poterle mangiare, era obbligatorio mangiare la polenta fino ad arrivare al centro, creando una sorta di strada. Ovviamente c'era la gara per arrivare al "premio"!

  8. I used to live near an Italian restaurant and I believe the family that owned it originated from Calabria. They served Spicy Italian Sausage and I had them serve it with polenta. My stomach misses it 😅 I will try to make it, thanks to this video 🙂 I will need calabrian peppers. Given it had a meat sauce, I'm guessing it's a central italian recipe that added calabrian peppers.

  9. COPPER POT ??? POISON . That pot is for decoration ONLY. Only use copper pots that are lined up with tin on the inside, copper is poison for human body, never use it again

  10. I hate gritty polenta so I use cornmeal. I love making vegan polenta with a mushroom Tomato sauce. It goes over well. When I make grits I don’t care about the color I use cornmeal and I have great grits. Cornmeal is less expensive so at this time it’s it’s so much better then corse found polenta

  11. I had wild boar with polenta in a mountain village in Piemonte. It was wonderful! The boar was seasoned with rosemary and juniper berries, and since that time I started making my pot roast that way.
