Located west of downtown Detroit along Michigan Avenue, Corktown is the oldest neighborhood of Detroit. Corktown is home to some fantastic restaurants which lots of great food. I visit four different restaurants to get a taste of what Corktown has to offer.
1. McShane’s Irish Pub & Whiskey Bar – McShane’s is an Irish pub serving great pub food from shepherd’s pie to fish & chips. I head inside to sample some outstanding fish and chips inside a pub atmosphere.
2. Mudgie’s Deli and Bar – Mudgie’s Deli is known for their signature sandwiches and are great for takeout or eating on the patio. I try one of their vegan chicken torta specials to get a taste of what Mudgie’s has to offer with their fresh food.
3. Ottava Via – Ottava Via is serving some of the finest Italian cuisine right in Corktown. With a pleasant atmosphere inside, I head inside to enjoy one of their amazing pasta dishes.
4. The Brooklyn Street Local – The Brooklyn Street Local is the place to go in Corktown for great brunch food, and they are famous for their poutine. I grab a seat in the outdoor seating area and try the poutine, a signature Canadian (or Quebec) classic.
