Spinach Corn Sandwich is a perfect breakfast. And if you are into weight loss journey….then this is the best sandwich you should include in your diet.
It is a cheesy Italian sandwich good for kids, enabling them to have thier portion of greens.
With little alteration to the recipe you can make its more healthier version. The cheesy white sauce is delicious enough to tempt them. You can always add thier favourite vegetables like carrot, lettuce or even boiled chicken chunks if you are non- vegetarian.
Add the herbs of your choice like basil and thyme….to enhance more flavour!!
❤️❤️ INGREDIENTS ❤️❤️
1- Butter: 2 tbsp
2- All purpose flour: 1.5 tbsp
3- Warm milk: 240ml(1cup)
4- Spinach: 1 Cup ( washed & chopped)
5- Corn: 1 Cup ( boiled)
6- Processed cheese: 1/2 Cup
7- Black pepper: 1/2 tsp
8- Oregano: 1 tsp
9- Chilli flakes: 1/2 tsp
10- Salt according to taste
11- Bread slices: 8
❤️❤️ METHOD ❤️❤️
👉Melt butter in a pan, on medium heat.
👉 Add all purpose flour, you can even use
wheat flour to make it more healthier.
Mix well.
👉 Gradually add warm milk in batches and
continue mixing it. No lumps should be
formed. Cook for 2-3 min
👉 Add black pepper, chilli flakes and herbs
👉 Mix mix mix by adding salt acc to taste.
👉 Add corn and spinach, mix and cook for
4-5 min
👉 Now add processed cheese.
👉 Switch off the flame
👉 Let it cool down to room temperature.
👉 Spread it over the bread slices and grill on
a pan by coating the bread with butter or
olive oil.
👉 For spicier version you can add more
chilli flakes.
👉 Serve it hot with dip of your choice.
