Spaghetti bolognese is one of my all time favourite traditional Italian recipes. Also learn how to make spaghetti bolognese vegetarian style – Simply substitute the ground beef for Quorn mince and bulk the recipe out with more vegetables. For a traditional dish with the best taste and deliciously thick sauce, allow this homemade dish to simmer over a low heat for a long time to allow those flavours to infuse.

Ingredients you’ll need when learning how to make spaghetti bolognese at home (per serving):

– 1 Large onion
– 2 Garlic cloves
– 4 Rashers bacon
– 2 Carrots
– Olive oil
– 400g Minced beef / Ground beef
– 2 Cans plum tomatoes
– 150ml Milk
– 2 tbsp Dried Oregano
– 1 tsp Ground nutmeg
– 2 tbsp Tomato puree
– 1 Beef stock cube
– 150ml Red wine
– Spaghetti
– Fresh Basil
