3 Tips to enjoy a delicous meal and reduce the calories.

1. Snack before you go.

Don’t want to go out to a restaurant hungry because you will likely overeat. Have snack before you leave for the restaurant. You canchoose a low fat cheese stick and crackers or a low fat yogurt with a couple of almonds. Both these snacks are high in protein and will keep you satisfied.

2. Study the menu before you go.

To keep the calories under control, you’ll need to choose a healthy entrée.
If you plan in advance, it helps head off your temptations once you get to the restaurant.

3. Stay away from fried foods and heavy cheesy dishes.

Examples such as chicken parmagiana or baked ziti are high in calories, saturated fat and sodium and should be avoided.
Choose from entrees that are lower in fat and higher in protein.

Start your meal with a basic Salad with light dressing on the side.
After, choose a main dish such as chicken piccata , chicken marsala or pasta with fresh tomato sauce. Always choose whole grain pasta if it’s available. Grilled fish, of any kind, is a good choice.

Bonus Tip:

Ask for an extra plate. Move your main entree to the new plate leaving the extra sauce behind. This can significantly reduce the calories, fat, and sodium.
