I live just north of College on Euclid. I’ve been living in this area for the past 25 years. Most of the Italians are gone, the older ones have passed away, and many of the younger ones have moved elsewhere. These days, there are more Portuguese residents than Italians, as well as quite a few Caucasian Canadians
The summer time vibe is completely different, and back in the day the italians actually were there lol many moved away to oakville. The portuguese are still around tho and theyve also been around for decades . Same happened on the st clair west italian area…Via Italia from Caledonia to Dufferin was all italian shops restaurants coffee shops and a hang out even for the mob lol thats what we grew up aound lol like little italy theres still very few italians and shops around but its drastically changed and a whole new demographic have moved in. Change is good but miss the old days of these neighborhoods. But again…summer time evenings college street is completely alive with all the restaurants and lounges Vibing out!
