Somehow the US is allowed to come up with these labels on their own that are NOT legit. There is a huge scam going on in the world of authentic / fake san marzanos… apparently in the US only no more than 5% of all cans labeled as San Marzano are legit Cento has a sight that lets you track the ones you purchased to see if they are legit.
Bro, im looking at a can of Cento brand San Marzano whole peeled tomatoes that I purchased recently and the back of the can says: PRODUCT OF ITALY. Specifically from tomatoes produced in the Sarnese Nocerino region of Campania, which is the HEART of the San Marzano tomato growing region. Just because it doesn’t have D.O.P on the label doesn’t mean they aren’t real San Marzano tomato. Cento just doesn’t want to pay the government extortion money and then pass that cost on to joe consumer for the privilege of having D.O.P. on their label. BTW, didn’t you just make a comment in this VERY VIDEO about “taxachusettes”? So you should understand. Get ur facts straight. And how is it that you’ve been eating at your home town spot of Victor’s for years and you’ve never eaten their MB Sub? I’m calling some BS on this vlog.
Never like seeing a dry part of the breading on a meatball sandwich. That last 1/4 was completely dry and empty just bread. That’s a failure. But I’m sure it was tasty

I think this review may have had some bias to it. With all due respect, the sandwich looked terrible when you first showed it. Sure it may have tasted okay though.

WOW now i know why my parents moved out of saugus. To much traffic, to many houses, and apartment building. I haven't visited saugus since 2020. When I grew up there it was like 80% Italian and rest was mostly Irish and Scots. Now it's like the league of nations. That's mass for you. I moved out to malden in 89 then moved to salibury from 93 to 2016. Now I'm cambridge until I retire to my camp in aroostook county maine on 104 acres, I can't fing wait.
Victors is great, a little pricey on some items but everything (as far as I know) is homemade , and good so it's worth paying once in a while if you don't want to cook. And FN Imondi! YOU!

Speaking of steak tips… went to Monica’s last week for an Italian sub. The guy in front of me ordered the steak tip sub and I almost followed suit. I’m so glad I didn’t. They reheat the steak tips in a MICROWAVE!!!! I couldn’t believe my eyes. How can a place like Monica’s be doing this?!?!

Gary’s Liquor in West Roxbury is the best bang for your buck meatball sub $12.99. It’s also highly recommend meatball for taste. It’s fantastic.
