Oh, about the Medieval fasting days surviving until today
… Ember Days are still observed by some, like myself, quarterly on the liturgical calendar.
They are Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday … three days of quarterly fasting.
I observe those days exactly like I observe a Friday during lent.
Ember Days are still marked on some church calendars, and they are surprisingly listed in "The Old Farmers Almanac."
Also, I got the last copy of that Renaissance cookbook off of Thrift Books! Yay!
