We took a pasta making class near Rome, Italy, and it turned out to be one of the most meaningful experiences of our trip ๐ฎ๐น๐.

This wasnโt just any cooking class โ it was taught by a real Italian nonna in a small town called Palombara Sabina, about 30 minutes outside Rome. What made it even more special was the story behind it.
The class was created by two Italian women, Chiara Nicolanti and Chiara Leone, who grew up with the smells and tastes of homemade pasta thanks to their own grandmothers.
Years ago, Chiara Nicolanti started this idea while she was pregnant โ spending time making pasta with her grandmother brought back cherished memories and inspired her to share that tradition with others.
What began as a small gathering turned into a beautiful cultural experience that now includes:
โข Multiple nonnas teaching by hand
โข Translators helping guests from around the world
โข Experiences in Rome, Palombara Sabina, and even on Mediterranean cruises
During our class, we learned traditional pasta-making techniques, heard stories about Italian food culture, and discovered the heart of this tradition โ passed down from one generation to the next.
We also learned about Palombara Sabina itself, a charming hill town full of history and flavor.
If youโve ever wondered whether a pasta making class in Italy is worth it, we can confidently say:
Yes โ and we loved it and totally recommend it. Even if you donโt speak Italian, the translators made it accessible, fun, and unforgettable.
This experience is perfect for:
โข Food lovers and pasta fans
โข Travelers seeking authentic local culture
โข Couples and honeymooners
โข Anyone looking for a meaningful hands-on activity in Italy
Learning from a real nonna, guided by Chiara Nicolanti and Chiara Leone, made this one of our favorite Italian memories โ and it reminded us why food isnโt just about eating, itโs about connection. ๐ฎ๐น๐
