Join me today on La Dolce Vita, the world’s newest luxury sleeper train, in First Class! I’ll show you exactly what it’s like to live onboard from my stunning suite complete with double bed and shower, to the incredible facilities offered. There’s a full service restaurant car serving Michelin star Italian cuisine, and a thriving 1960s style salon car for entertainment throughout the day and night.
This trip is operated exclusively throughout Italy, and as such there are a variety of excursions scheduled along our route. We’ll be stopping in Venice to dine at a Palace and later in the journey sail along the coastline to the idyllic Portofino.
This First Class sleeper train does not come cheap priced at over $20,000 but as usual I’ve booked and paid for this trip myself. This is to maintain an unbiased and honest review of the experience.

Appears to be $12,500 usd pp to have nice meals and nothing more. I have a bigger bed in my bedroom, and I can wear a robe or not if I choose. Oh wow, I can take a shower in my own bathroom on a train!!! Neat, but still not worth 12 thousand bucks.

Should get refund for the excursion, it was not worth it and the fact that some people didn't even ask for does that mean they didn't pay it?Yeah , I think you should get a total refund for that.

Now that I'm retired, I decided that when I travel, I will travel first class or business class as I worked hard for almost 50 years, I love myself and deserve it. I just can't see spending 20k for a 3 day train trip no matter how luxurious it is. But, to each its own 😅

In Venice you could have taken a private water taxi to Cipriani’s would have cost you € 200 for the taxis, and €300 each for the best dinner in Italy

The room was so basic, and that extra money for a normal 3 course meal and a ride on boat… everything was as bad as it could be.
Most enjoyable from our favourite travel influencer. They all make me jealous. I would be joining you with steak. Caviar, not so much :-). One point off for the white king and queen being the wrong way round on the chess set.

I'm curious if you ever raised the Venice excursion cost that the other guests didn't pay for to them? The food looked amazing and the train and staff seemed wonderful, but I don't think I could spend 30k on three days.
Amenities are the facilities or constructs in which services are provided. They aren’t a bowl or strawberries or chocolates. They are room or culinary provisions.
I love this video so much. But, I would never ever do this trip. I love trains, but this is ridiculous. Way too expensive. And, I must confess the meals looked horrible to me. I hate hate dressing up like that all the time; it looked so pretentious. So, this one is definitely not for me. There are so many other train experiences that don't rip you off and allow you to enjoy without making you feel like you are a robber baron.

I'm sorry but upcharging when you're literally already paying over 20k is ridiculous. it completely cheapens the experience to me. They shell out to provide dyson hair dryers and 40 euro soap but cant possibly eat the cost of the excursion or cocktails? yeah nah mate. I'd absolutely bring up the fact that not everybody payed for the excursion to the train company and see what they have to say for themselves.
