I’m making family friendly meals with one of my favorite budget friendly ingredients! A bag of frozen tortellini is still around $3 at most of my grocery stores, and it can be turned into so many different recipes!
Auntie Nono’s (Discount Code: MINDY25):
Sausage Tortellini:
1/2lb ground Italian Sausage, browned
1/2 onion, diced
minced garlic
1 can tomatoes
1 19oz bag frozen tortellini
1tsp Italian seasoning
pinch red pepper flake
1/2C water
3/4C half & half
1C shredded cheese of choice
salt & pepper to taste
Taco Tortellini:
1 19oz bag frozen tortellini
1lb ground beef
2 cans diced tomatoes w/green chilis
1packet taco seasoning
1C beef broth
Brown beef, then put in crockpot with all ingredients EXCEPT tortellini. Cook on low 3-4 hours, then add frozen tortellini and cook for an additional 30 minutes or until tortellini is cooked. To make on the stove: brown beef, then simmer all ingredients (except tortellini) together on low for 20 minutes. Add tortellini and simmer 5-10 minutes until tortellini is cooked.
