A&Z #985 – Randy Santel vs Brick & Ivy Rooftop’s Jumbo Chicago Hot Dog Eating Challenge at Brick & Ivy Rooftop in Altoona, Iowa!! A few weeks after finishing my Florida Tour with @Katina Eats Kilos, I started a Midwest USA Food Challenge Tour. For event #14, I traveled to Altoona, Iowa so I could take on the Jumbo Chicago Hot Dog Eating Challenge at Brick & Ivy Rooftop which is named after the brick and ivy located at Wrigley Baseball Stadium, home to the Chicago Cubs. They have a large menu and are known to be the best sports bar in Altoona which is just outside of Des Moines, Iowa. They are also known for their jumbo Chicago-style hot dogs. Most people cannot finish 1, let alone the 8 that you must finish in one sitting to win this eating challenge. Each Chicago Dog has a 1/4lb beef hot dog topped with yellow mustard, sweet green pickle relish, onion, sport peppers, diced tomatoes, and a fried pickle spear which was unique and extra tasty. I was trying to win my $30 hot dog eating challenge meal free plus a sweet t-shirt along with a spot on the Wall of Fame. The owner also said he would add in a baseball cap if I set a new time record for the challenge. BIG thanks to everyone with Brick & Ivy Rooftop for the wonderful food, drinks, and hospitality!! Special thanks also to all the amazing people who came that Tuesday evening to watch and meet me!! I appreciate everyone in Altoona, Iowa and all around Iowa who watches videos and supports our efforts!! Lots more challenge videos upcoming!!
