Today’s starring in our food tour is a delicious sweet a typical sweet of this town I’m visiting. I’m talking about the Dronerese a sweet made from a core of chocolate and a layer of meringues outside.
If you like 🍫, you will be delighted to give a shot to it. Two versions are available, the first one is with rom and chocolate (original version) and the second with gianduia-chocolate.

The whole area is a good spot to immerse yourself in the chocolate tradition of North-Italy, with many factories that work a terrific quality of chocolate.

This mini-region called Occitanie Valleys is just near the İtalian-french borders and shares many similarities with its neighbour.

The local spoken dialect for example has lots of words in common with french incomprehensible to not local people. These valleys share not only the language but also culture, music and flavours of a region that starts from the South-West of France running till the valleys beging the Alps here in Italy.

If you are wondering where I am, check on the Google Maps – Dronero (CN) Piemonte, Italy.
