Nonno makes an authentic family recipe – Pasta e Fagioli
10-12 small Roma or San Marzano tomatoes (or 16oz of can tomatoes)
1- 16 oz can cannelloni beans
2-4 garlic cloves chopped
1 tablespoon fresh Italian parsley
1 – 1 1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth
1/3 cup dry small pasta
1/8 cup olive oil
salt & black pepper to taste
Optional:
1/4 cup dry white wine
a good pinch of red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon fresh Thyme
