First, it was Biagi’s. Now, Cedar Rapids has lost another Italian restaurant.
Cedar Rapids Restaurant Quietly Closes
Restaurants located at 475 Northland Ave in Cedar Rapids have a way of coming and going. Most recently, it was home to Edison Eatery, which closed in June of 2025 after six years in business. But it was immediately replaced by a new Italian and Mediterranean restaurant called Tuscany Grill.
My wife and I enjoyed several fantastic meals at Tuscany Grill over the past two years. But sadly, we won’t have the chance to go back. Rumors began to circulate online this week that the restaurant was closing. Google lists the restaurant as closed. And now, a sign has been posted on the doors of the restaurant confirming the news.

The restaurant had changed its hours of operation, which is usually never a good sign for a restaurant. Now it appears that despite the changes, Tuscany Grill is closed for good.
It breaks our hearts to see local businesses like this have to close. We hope the employees land on their feet, and we’ll wait and see what new restaurant decides to try that location next.
