Samsung Welstory is rolling out the product lineup of Italian brand Vitto in South Korea’s business-to-business food ingredient market.
The company said on the 5th that it held a launch event for the Vitto brand on the 4th at High Street Italia, operated by the Italian Trade Agency, inviting about 200 guests including food service clients.
Vitto is a “100% Made in Italy” food brand from Atlante, an Italian food company, offering ingredients used in Italian cooking such as pasta, tomato sauce and olive oil.
Samsung Welstory first introduced two types of Vitto pasta in November last year. Client orders subsequently more than quadrupled, and on the back of that market response the company expanded the lineup to seven products, including whole and pronto tomatoes, balsamic cream and two types of olive oil.
“Vitto is the flagship brand in Samsung Welstory’s push into direct sourcing and exclusive supply of global brands,” a company official said. “We will continue to expand food ingredient solutions that let clients apply our products effectively to their actual menus, contributing to stronger competitiveness for their businesses.”
Samsung Welstory has moved beyond importing individual competitive products from overseas to identifying foreign brands directly and supplying them exclusively to the domestic B2B market. The company said the approach allows it to provide high-quality imported ingredients to clients on a stable basis while securing differentiated product competitiveness.
