Emilio’s has confirmed it will officially reopen on November 5, with bookings now live for its return to Durham city centre.
The restaurant will return to 96 Elvet Bridge, where owners Emilio Arceri and Dan Stafford previously operated Notch Americano before announcing its closure amid rising costs facing the hospitality industry.
The pair are reviving the family restaurant, promising a fresh twist and a new name.
The reopening date was announced in a social media post, where the pair revealed work is now underway to transform the venue ahead of opening day.
They said: “Bookings are now live.
“We’re officially opening our doors on the 5th of November and we can’t wait to welcome you to Emilio’s.
“Book your table now through the link in our bio or find us on Google to book.”
The announcement was accompanied by a video showing refurbishment work taking place inside the restaurant.
Speaking to followers, Dan said: “We’ve had our first full day at getting our refurb done for the brand new Emilio’s.
“After a long day today I am also happy to announce that bookings are now live.
“Make sure to get booked in as we are expecting quite a high turnover of people. You can get booked on Google and all our social media pages as well.”

Customers were quick to share their excitement following the update, with one person commenting: “Yes lads.”
Fellow Durham restaurant The Tannery also welcomed the news, writing: “A cornerstone of Durham’s restaurant community finally returns.
“We are so looking forward to seeing you back and better than ever.”
Emilio’s return was announced in October, weeks after Notch Americano revealed it would be closing its doors on November 1.
At the time, Emilio and Dan thanked customers for their support and described the opportunity to bring back Emilio’s as a chance to revive one of Durham’s best-known restaurant names.
In a statement announcing the comeback, they said: “Some things are just meant to come back.
“First off, a huge thank you for all the messages and support since announcing the closure of Notch Americano.

“We really do have such an amazing community here in Durham, and we can’t thank you enough for your continued support.
“We feel incredibly lucky to have the opportunity to bring back Emilio’s, a much-loved family-run restaurant that was part of Durham for over 30 years, but with a fresh new twist.
“As one door closes, another one opens, so stay tuned.”
Now, with bookings officially open and the finishing touches being put in place, the countdown is on until Emilio’s once again opens its doors in the heart of Durham.
