We celebrated Sergio’s belated birthday at Palazzone in Orvieto with a wonderful tour, delicious food, beautiful wines, and lots of laughter!
What a treat to discover the stories behind this beautiful estate, whose history dates back to 1299, when it was built by a cardinal. In 1969, Angelo Dubini and his wife Maria brought new life to the property, beginning a family winemaking tradition that continues today.
And oh, the wines! 🍇
With 24 hectares of vineyards, Palazzone celebrates the traditional grapes of Orvieto, including Grechetto, Trebbiano, Malvasia, and Verdello.
What I especially loved was their philosophy: freshness, balance, elegance, and drinkability. Beautiful wines full of character, made to be enjoyed and shared.
And my favorite pearl of wisdom from the day?
“The best bottle is the one that is empty first!” 🍷
Because great wine is really about the people around the table, the stories we share, and the moments we celebrate.
